Mom scoffed, “Do you think I give a shit? I was pissed the fuck off for so damn long thinking Alania went peacefully. I sleepso much fucking better at night knowing she suffered for all she did.” Surprise hit all my connections.
Uncle Logan whispered, “How did she find out?” I had no idea. Gerdishek pointed at her accusing, “You callous woman! Queen Alania was your mother!” Mom snorted, “Alania gave birth to me, that doesn’t make her my damn mother.”
Mom pointed up at Grammy Veronica, “That’s my fucking mom, and I won’t let you, or anyone else, say differently. Alania wasn’t a mother to any of her children. She was a manipulative bitch whose own mate set her mouth on fire in the Beyond so she couldn’t tell me when she died . All to try and influence the bonds I share with my family.”
“Fenilton is more my parent than Alania ever was. He tries to protect me where she served me up to abusers to suffer. Alania’s words and his actions made me realize what more than likely came to pass with her.”

Melanie’s bond flashed with something and I grabbed it. Melanie wanted to defend Hunter’s. It was like she knew something we didn’t. Oden offered, “Freya has nothing to say on the topic, which tells me mate definitely wants to defend them.” Weird.
Gerdishek’s eyes twitched. Mom laughed, “Of course they don’t. See here’s the damn thing, I know Fabian like the back of my hand. He’d have had plots on plots to betray everyone whowasn’t a Fairy. He didn’t learn that type of behavior from my grandparents.”
“No, it had to be someone from my family and yours. Your depraved family got ahold of him and allowed him to flourish with his sick mind. Don’t worry, I blame someone else for that too. Alania is just as much to blame. She could’ve, and should’ve, stopped him before my grandparents died.”
“Hell, before my Aunt Faelynn died, and certainly before Fenilton died. Not to mention countless others. Alania’s just as fucking guilty. Who in my family betrayed us and let yours go? Who lied and said they were all gone?”
Gerdishek shouted, “I don’t know. That information died with my father.” Melanie snorted, “Well, he’s dead now.” I had to agree. This idiot had nothing else mom needed to know. Mom said, “Well, how fucking sad for you.”
She charged at him. He drew a dagger, smiling announcing, “I’ll take you with me, Princess.” Mom cut his arm then elbowed him in the face. Mom replied, “What part of I can heal my damn self, did you forget?”
Gerdishek actually jolted like he had forgotten that important detail. Oden scoffed, “Like we wouldn’t say fuck the rules and heal mom.” No joke. Mom continued, “I trained with my Hackura family. My brother, you know the fucking King of the Hackura, taught me how to fight.”
“I’ve sparred with my father, all my brothers, my Guard, my husband, his brothers, my sisters in law, and my Fairy family. Lucinda and I spar with weapons, and our powers, not infuckingfrequently. I also spar with my brother, the King of Faerie.”
“Who did you train with? Your brothers? Maybe your father before he was killed? I’m half Hackura, you son of a bitch. I know you all LOVE to discount that motherfucking fact, but it remains one all the same. I AM the Hackura Princess. You can’t evenbeat me with Fairy skills, and you sure as shit can’t beat me with fighting skills.”
Melanie clapped besides me. Then the whole place erupted in cheers for my mom. Gerdishek’s eyes went to the crowd in shock. Uncle Logan snorted, “Rookie move.” Never take your eye off an opponent. It was rule number one in literally any class taught.
Mom went for the kill, stabbing him through the chest and breaking the arm holding the dagger. Gerdishek turned back to gape at her. The crowd went wild. If not for my hearing I would’ve missed mom’s final parting words.
“Your family tried to turn Faerie against partials and make them forget what a mate is meant to be. You succeeded for a long time, but we beat you. Aiden and I won, even Arion showed his love for his mate at the end of his life.”

Mom twisted the sword in his chest and blood immediately poured out of his mouth. Then she pulled the sword out, faced the crowd, raised her sword in the air and everyone went wild.
