I saw the glint of a sword on her back, and I couldn't believe I hadn’t seen it until now. Gerdishek angrily asked, “What are you doing?” Mom answered, “Waiting for you try to something that would actually fucking work.”

Gerdishek gasped. Mom continued, “In case your dense ass self didn’t notice, the vines are not attacking me. This is boring. Children in Faerie are taught that vines and animals will not attack a child of the Earth. CHILDREN! Even I fucking learned that, and I didn’t get to go to school here.”

Gerdishek shouted angrily, “I am not a regular child of the Earth.” Mom cut him off, “Yes, I know. You’re a moron of theEarth who believes himself to be superior. You are no longer a part of the fucking royal Earth family.”

Mom glanced him up and down and shook her head, “Honestly, how you all managed to stay in power is beyond me. Those older than you knew they were teaching you a bunch of shit and filled your head with delusions of grandeur. That any of you believe even though there was evidence to the contrary the shit you spewed is actually insane. Will you please try something else? I’ll repeat. This. Is. Boring.”

Several Fairies burst out laughing. Gerdishek turned red with anger and angrily spoke to the vines. Those vines simply stroked my mother gently. None wrapped around her though, it was more like a caress. Mom smiled and touched the vines in return.

Gerdishek screamed in anger, “An abomination should not control the Earth as I can!” I growled loudly, “MY MOTHER IS NOT AN ABOMINATION!” Melanie gripped my hand as fury filled all my connections.

Dad reached out and grabbed my shoulder sending his understanding. Dad sent us the feeling everyone knew that his comment weren’t true. Mom sent all her love in the bond. To my shock, my mom chuckled, “Ahh, there is it. I was wondering when you were going to call me that.”

Gerdishek gasped, “You didn’t even flinch.” Mom replied, “I’m practically immune to the word at this point and it bores me. You and your brainwashed group of fanatics are so fucking predictable. Do you think I’d cower over your name calling?”

“Let me guess, you’ve seen ports of the abused little girl who did everything she had to do to survive. You didn’t look further to see the cunning of that little girl to survive. You didn’t look further to realize that I survived time after time. Or to notice the damn name stopped bothering me a long ass fucking time ago. I possessed the ability to look up definitions of words and knew it wasn’t an accurate description of me.”

Gerdishek’s ears turned red, “Your training is used for others.” Mom asked, “How’s that working out for you? Because I cannot imagine it’s going how you want. My name is WELL known in all the realms. You idiots use that to show other women their fates.”

“Yet you unwisely forget I am recognizable. You show those women that they can fucking survive. That they will rise like the bad ass they are and have a good fucking life one day. I have a family who loves me.”

“Sons and daughters whose wolves are ready to rip your throat out, along with their father. My brothers in law would join them with my sisters in law, and that’s just the ONE side of my family. We all know Aiden could, and would, destroy you.”

“My Fairy nieces and nephews would gladly torment and kill you. I hardly think the Hackura side needs to be mentioned, but that’s not just those I am blood related to. My Guards probably hope you don’t die in here. I’ve heard plans mentioned.”

I shot a look at Blade who was in the arena, but not interfering. Mom continued, “You show women and girls my face forgetting my story is well fucking known. Now, I have a mate who stands by my side and adores me.”

“I have love and those women and men will look at you and realize that I have everything, while you have nothing but hate. You show them who the real loser is, and it certainly wasn’t me. You show them what they can become, survivors who fucking win at life. While you continue to be nothing and have no one.”

Gerdishek hissed, “My family has power!” Mom laughed, “No, MY family has power.” She called the wind and threw him into the Fire side of the arena. He screamed and jumped out. Burns coated his body now. Mom tisked, “If only you could heal, like me.”

Mom mocked him, “I can heal my damn self, but you do not have such abilities. What a shame for you.” Oden chuckled,“Sarcasm noted.” Yeah, my Healer side didn’t even care that this guy was hurting. Fuck Gerdishek.

Mom cooed, “Here I thought men were supposed to be the big, strapping saviors while the women folk were just for your needs. Yet here I am, winning this fight. In more ways than one. How’s your brainwashing working out for you now, asshole?”

Gerdishek got to his feet demanding, “Stop cursing!” Mom smirked replying, “Hell to the fuck no. My mother in law tried to get me to do that and it clearly didn’t work out. Cursing reminds me that I’m fucking free from your band of fucking pathetic small-minded people.”

“Those who thought they were superior to everyone and deserved to put others down. Their inflated sense of ego led to madness and chaos. They believed people to be beneath them. They led Faerie into very dark times out of an obsession to put partials down to defeat us.”

“Yet we have risen from the shadows they tried to force us into. We are the strong ones. You are the pathetic, weak ones who don’t see the truth of the strength in front of you. I’m guessing it was the one of the O’Toole Prince’s that managed to escape in the Holloran take over, that has perpetuated this cycle of toxic fucking hate.”

Gerdishek laughed, “You all just have no idea.” He scoffed, “Only one Prince. So many members of our family got out. My father was smart enough to align our family with them but also remain separate. We kept off your radar.”

Mom snorted, “How’s that working out for you? You are here, about to die yet they are not here. Nor did they attempt to save you. It would seem to me the personal plan of your father’s didn’t fucking work. All because your daddy went after a Vampire’s mate. That was not wise on his part. The ire of a Vampire is not one you want to raise unless you can back it up.”

Gerdishek sneered, “You’d know. You pissed King Damon off all the time. Who are you to speak of pissing off a Vampire? You supposedly killed him. We know the truth though, your mate killed him.” Mom smirked, “Actually I staked Damon’s crazy ass.”

Gerdishek’s jaw dropped before he yelled, “You’re not supposed to be able to lie.” Mom snorted, “I can’t lie. I did kill the former Vampire King. Damon took me from my damn home, my mate and could’ve killed my children.”

“Fabian and Alania drove Arion to a bad place, but Damon didn’t help. He helped them make my brother go fucking mad and shatter his soul. If I could I’d raise King Damon from the dead, along with a few others, and make them suffer for what they did to my brother.”

Gerdishek looked over at us and smirked. Melanie tensed beside me. She linked me, “He knows.” I asked, “Knows what?” Melanie answered, “That Alania couldn’t have died as quickly as she did.” My eyes widened. I growled, “FUCK!”

My siblings all linked me, “What?” Before I could answer Gerdishek said to mom, “You think you’re so smart, yet you believe Alania died peacefully.” Mom stared at him. I shifted through my bond with her, but I felt no surprise there.

I wondered if it was blocked, but I didn’t feel her walls up either. I leaned forward as Uncle Aiden stood with his hands on fire. Gerdishek mocked mom, “Every other Fairy here knows it’s not possible for Alania to have passed so soon from sharing her life force. Every Fairy, except you. Who do you think killed her?”

Mom replied, “I don’t have to think about it, because I’m fairly certain I already know. I hope Alania suffered for a long ass fucking time. I could guess the timeline based on when I first saw her in the Beyond.”
