PANDORA
Practical applications of ceremonial magic was a lot more interesting with Hunter managing the class, and I found myself paying a lot more attention to not only the subject but to the counselor up in front of the class speaking.
Ironwood was creepy, and honestly, he wasn’t a very good professor in general. I couldn’t recall much of what he taught through the term. I only really remembered what I’d read independently.
Hunter stood at the front of the class with his hands clasped together as he explained to the class that Ironwood had quit unexpectedly, and he was doing a favor for the headmistress by covering for him. His smooth voice melted over me as he talked.
I balanced my cheek on my hand as I stared at him. He wore a tan sweater and dress slacks with his dark blond hair hanging loosely over his shoulders. His white eyes scanned over the class, but they continued to linger on me in a way that made my skin feel hot.
“...and that covers what you need to know for the final on Thursday,” Hunter finished. “See you then. Make sure you study.”
The rest of the class practicallyboltedout of the room, gossiping about why Ironwood would’ve quit.
“Damn, girl, you’re killing me,” Jenni groaned beside me. “My reserves are so full just from you just watching your mate teach.”
I sucked in a sharp gasp and shook my head. “I didn’t mean to.”
She winked. “Don’t worry, I get it. I have two mates of my own, remember?”
“One of which is her dad, remember?” Skel added in cheekily.
She grinned, getting to her feet. “Oh, I’m aware. I’m about to go see him and Joel now. I’d say more, but I don’t want to traumatize my best friend again.”
“Pandora, stay back, will you?” Hunter asked.
“Of course I will.” I smiled.
“Can we stay, too?” Skel pleaded as he, Bram, and I made our way to his desk.
“You can if you want, I guess,” he murmured, gaze locked on me.
“I’ll lock the door,” Jenni cackled as she left the room, shutting the door as the knob locked behind her.
Hunter walked around the desk and slid his hand around my neck, tugging me against him and slamming his lips over mine. Hunger raged through our matebond, and I moaned into his mouth as my arms circled his neck, pulling him closer. I wanted to drown in his sweet chocolate scent more than anything.
“Fates, Pandora, the way you were looking at me through that whole class was enough to drive me insane. I felt your need through the bond,” he groaned against my lips.
“Yeah?” I rasped before his tongue slipped past my lips and tangled with my own. “I feel yours now.”
“Fuck,” Bram muttered.
“That’s hot,” Skel agreed.
“Dude, yes,” Dex cheered us on as he came out of the shadows.
Hunter picked me up and wrapped my legs around his waist before backing us up until my ass hit his desk. “I love you, starlight.”
“I love you,” I gasped out as his teeth scraped against my neck.
A sharp knock on the door made us jump apart.
“Unlock and open it,” Hunter gestured to the others as he helped me down and ran a hand through his hair.
Verity stood on the other side with a knowing smirk on her lips. “I would like to remind you that this room is not soundproof like the dorm rooms are.”
My face heated, and I ducked behind Dex’s back as Hunter went over to smooth things over with Verity.
Dex chuckled but allowed me to cling to his back.
