“What’re you doing naked in her bed with her asleep?” Damien’s voice was deep, monster-like, and seriously scary.
Rhett’s lips curved into a teasing smirk as he wrapped his arms around my waist and pulled me closer. His bottom half was covered with the blanket and I was on top of them, but I could still feel the outline between his legs.
“How did you…” I inhaled the familiar scent of cherries. “Oh my Kalista, you were the bat! Which means you heard everything between Grayson and me.”
“Little bird,” Damien interjected. “Grayson was talking to you?”
“He approached me in the forest. Lachlan hit him though, and Grayson left.” I ran a hand through my sweat-dampened hair.
"I'll kill him," he muttered, and my heartbeat quickened.
“Thanks for healing my wing,” Rhett purred in my ear, sending tingles down my spine.
“Ah.” I shivered as I stared into his brilliant violet eyes. “Your power... You can shift into a bat?”
“I can.” He nodded, and his fingers dug into the fabric of my shirt. “It’s a very useful power considering there haven’t been any bat shifters in over a hundred years.”
My chest grew heavy at the thought of an extinct shifter species and being the last of my kind.
“I can imagine. You’re so small, and I’m sure flying is useful too.”
“I’m anything but small,” he muttered with a pout, and Damien snorted a laugh as his shadows calmed and his horns rescinded.
My eyes flickered down toward Rhett’s waist before I forced them back to his face. My face was on fire. “Um, I have clothes you can wear, but I don’t think they’ll fit…”
“I’ll give you some of mine if you get the fuck out,” Damien offered with a smile, and Rhett snickered under his breath.
“You just want me out because you’re scared she’ll fall for me instead of you,” Rhett murmured, dipping his head to my neck and sniffing as he let loose his pheromones.
My body arched into him as a throb pulsed achingly between my legs.
“Ah, ah, ah.” Damien sucked his teeth. “On the contrary, I think she’ll fall for us both... but I’ll be the favorite because I’m still mad at you. And Kian will definitely be more preferred than you.”
“W-what?” Kian’s eyes widened.
Rhett increased his pheromones, and my nipples tightened painfully as a low moan left my lips.
Kian’s face turned completely red as Rhett’s lips brushed my neck, and Damien froze.
“Oh, my little bird, make that noise again,” Damien rasped, his eyes darkening as they swept over my trembling body.
My skin was screaming to be touched, and the inside of my thighs were soaked in my arousal.
I let out a small whimper, and Rhett pulled his pheromones in and leaned back enough for me to see the desire swirling in his gaze.
“So responsive to the smallest amount of pheromones,” he murmured, tilting his head.
Biting down on my lip, I tried to maintain some composure, but I didn’t know how. I mean, I just slept next to my naked counselor. Granted, I hadn’t known the bat was Rhett.
At that moment, someone knocked, and Kian turned, walking away to answer it.
A second later, Thorn and Lachlan stood at my door staring at Rhett and me with shock and confusion.
“What happened to the bat?” Lachlan scanned the room with furrowed brows as Rhett chuckled.
“The bat was me in my other form.”
“No shit.” Lachlan ruffled a hand through his hair with a thoughtful expression. “So the bat was actually our sex demon counselor... Cool.”
