I beg to differ.

Rhett smirked, strolling closer to the front as he rolled the cuffs of his sleeves up his arms, exposing more ink decorating his skin as the waves of desire ebbed and flowed rapidly off him. “I assure you that all species of the supernatural are superior to humans, and that it has and will work on humans and supernatural alike.”

The guy didn’t reply, and when I glanced back, he was biting his fist as if to hold back saying something. I noticed everyone in the room seemed to be struggling to maintain their composure.

Surely dosing us with pheromones wasn’t moral, but I couldn’t find it in me to complain about the sensation rippling through my body.

Damien slid his rough hand onto my thigh, and his fingertips moved circular motions on the inner portion near the edge of my skirt.

My spine straightened as the fog over my brain increased, and I became hyperaware of everything around me. I was sure they were all trying to make me explode. I felt Alister’s gaze trained on me, Kian’s warmth next to me, Damien’s fingers on my skin, and Rhett’s voice washing over me as he talked about more reasons incubi could be a danger.

I fully understood why they could be a danger because I couldn’t line up a single not sexual thought.

My gaze locked back on Rhett’s, and he stilled as his eyes darkened. Alister’s fangs popped out, and Damien put his nose against my hair and inhaled.

All at once, the pheromones were sucked out of the room, but as I squirmed, I realized just how damp my panties had gotten.

Oh my Kalista. Other supernaturals could definitely smell me…

My cheeks burned as I stood up and bolted from the classroom. It was too much.

Murmurs followed, and I didn’t miss Grayson’s head turning toward me, but I couldn’t care less at that moment. I just had to get away from everyone and clean myself up.

A hand caught my wrist once I was almost out of Arcane Hall, and I was brought to a stop. Whipping my head around, I felt the magic tingles of my fox ears popping up on top of my skull as I fought the shift.

“Are you okay?” Kian stood there with his face beet red.

“I’m not okay,” I admitted, pointing to my ears with my free hand. “I’m so turned on I can hardly breathe! I’m having issues controlling my shift because all I can think about is—”

“Ah, there’s the sweet little ruby,” Alister purred as he walked into the mostly empty lobby and toward us with that predatory gaze he wore around me.

Kian let go of my wrist, and I buried my face in my hands. Why did he have to follow me too?

“Care to finish that sentence?” Alister prompted, and his cinnamon scent swept over me.

Rhett wasn’t even around to let pheromones off, and I was desperate for a release. I was about to explode into my fox form because my body was so confused by the onslaught of lust pumping through me.

I’d never been attracted to anyone growing up as much as I had been to Thorn, perks of isolation, and now all of a sudden, I was attracted to so many others.

“I don’t even know,” I huffed the answer and wiggled one of my ears.

It was strange hearing from both sets of ears. Whenever I would shift, my ears and tail came first, so I would always semi-shift this way. Thorn called it adorable, but I called it annoying.

No one could take me seriously when I had fox ears on top of my head and a fluffy tail growing just above my butt crack.

“I bet you do,” he prodded, closing the distance and stepping into my space. “You want someone to slide in between your legs and help you put an end to what you’re feeling right now.”

My eyelids were heavy as I stared up at his lips. His fangs peeked through, and my arousal only increased.

“Mr. Vespertine!” Kian sputtered.

“What would that feel like?” I rasped, clutching my bag that was draped over my shoulder for dear life.

I’d read and reread one of Alice’s romance novels a million times over the years. Anticipation pulsed between my legs as I imagined what it would feel like to be touched there.

I shuddered, glancing around to see everyone who had been loitering in the lobby gone.

Kian choked and started a coughing spree as Alister’s eyes gleamed like I’d challenged him to a competition, but before either could answer me, Damien stepped out of the shadows and cupped my face between his hands.
