I added a few different drinks together with the blood and stirred the concoction before handing Blaise and Kai their glasses.

I took a sip of mine and moaned. Reddish gold bubbles fizzed on my tongue as a syrup flavor slid down my throat. “This is fucking incredible,” I said as I took a pause from gulping the rest down.

The guys just guzzled theirs down in response.

Thaddeus rolled his eyes as Jax came over and perched up behind me on the couch.

“Before we get into anything…” I turned toward Thaddeus. “What did you mean by the Kings of Hell taking interest in the Draven clan?”

“Meow!” Jax hopped in between Thaddeus and I with his head tilted to the side.

Thaddeus’s jaw hardened. “We were recruited to find someone.”

“The Crimson Demon, right?” I asked.

Blaise coughed, and Kai diverted his attention.

“Yes,” Thaddeus answered. “But that’s not a conversation for tonight, love.”

I opened my mouth to argue but Kai cut me off.

“You had me shitting it tonight.” Kai slapped his glass down on the coffee table with his intense gaze on me.

“I was going bloody mad.” Blaise did the same, the tension in the room dissipating.

“You’ve learned a lot in a short amount of time,” Thaddeus told me with a proud smirk on his lips. “I was gobsmacked.”

I decided to drop it again. Whoever the Crimson Demon was, none of the guys seemed keen on talking about him.

I forced my lips to spread into a smile. “I made it thanks to everything you all taught me.”

After the sentiments were shared, I lost count of how many drinks we indulged in. Thaddeus leaned back with his eyes trained mostly on me.

I got up after downing another drink and stumbled toward their radio. I fiddled with the knobs until I found a channel with my favorite music.

Rap is superior. Bite me.

Pop Smokebusted through the speakers, and I squealed, clapping my hands happily. “Hell yes!”

I bounced around on my bare feet and spun around like a lunatic.

“When a lady fancies a dance, you dance with her.” Blaise stumbled toward me and grabbed my hand before attempting to spin me.

I spun beautifully before my foot caught my own ankle, and I went flying into the mantle of the fireplace with a smack. The rocks dug into my hands as my face collided.

“Fuuck,” I slurred. “That hurt.”

Kai grabbed my shoulders and helped me to my feet. “You okay?”

“Totally fine.” I nodded with a dreamy sigh as I stared into his baby blues. “You know, this is playing out like an otome game after all.”

“A what?” Thaddeus mused.

Blaise chuckled. “She said that when we first met. I still have no clue.”

“Guys, come on. We have to get you accepted...no...accumulated...no.. acclimated...yes! Acclimated to the modern world.” I hiccuped, waving my hands wildly around as I tried to explain. “An otome game is when you have this main character who gets choices of these scorching hot men. She has different routes to get to know them all. My favorite ending is when she gets all the guys.”

“Sounds familiar.” Blaise’s hot breath hit my ear.
