My thought process combusted. It took me a few minutes to climb off his lap and think of a reply. Monogamy had been drilled into my head, and I never broke up with Corbin. Guilt tried eating me alive from cheating on him with Kai and now with Blaise. But was it cheating when I wasn’t human anymore? The human girl he datedhad diedat the accident. I was a totally different woman now, one who could kill him on sight—a woman who was starting to fall not for just one vampire but three of them.
We got to our feet, and I fixed my ponytail. “When you say sharing, do you mean that sexually or romantically?”
He smirked. “I’d be fine with either, but Kai and Thaddeus aren’t ones to share sexually. I meant more of sharing your affections.”
“I wouldn’t like the idea of sharing any of you with another woman.” Saying that left a bitter taste in my mouth, and I winced.
He chuckled. “You wouldn’t have to, Poppy. You would be it for us. We’ve lived a long fucking time, and no woman has come close to you.”
My face felt hot for the first time since I’d become a vampire. I didn’t even realize I could blush anymore, but surely my face was bright red by now. “I have to say, that doesn’t sound like a terrible idea.”
“Of course you’d say that.” He winked. “Because it’s what we all want.”
I bit down on the inside of my cheek. “Why don’t we get back to training before Thaddeus catches us goofing off.”
“Kissing you isn’t what I’d call goofing off.”
After a dinner full of more sexual tension than conversation, I realized I needed to get laid.
What stopped me? The fact that these damn vampires wanted to focus on training every second of every fucking hour. I mean, sure, I wanted to get stronger so I wouldn’t be obliterated, but we had time for a bit of foreplay, in my opinion.
All work and no play makes for a grumpy Lilith.
“Were you able to control your powers with Blaise?” Kai asked, hovering near the door as I laid sideways on my bed.
I nodded, running my hands over the silky comforter.Should I feel guilty about kissing Blaise?
“Yeah, I did. I hit him with a little of my dirty thoughts and caught him off guard.”
“Good.” He ran a hand through his hair. “I guess I’ll leave you be then.”
“Are you three going hunting?” I sat up on my knees and patted the spot beside me.
He turned to look down the hall before he strode in and sat next to me. “Yes, but not for a few more minutes.”
“Why are you nervous?”
His eyes darted to mine. “That obvious?”
I went to reach my hand out toward him but pulled back. I’d just made out with his brother, for fucksake. “I’m nervous too. I wanted to tell you that Blaise and I—”
“Fooled around,” he finished. “I know. Thaddeus and I could smell you both all over each other at dinner.”
“We kissed, Kai.” I squeezed my thighs together from the surge of thoughts about fooling around withbothKai and Blaise. What the fuck was wrong with me?“That’s all. But I did want to tell you about it because I kissed you too.”
“Actually,Ikissed you.” He smiled at me, dimples on display. “And I don’t regret it. The thing about vampires, my dear Lilith, is that vampires don’t mind sharing among their clan.”
“What if I don’t want to share you guys with anyone?”
“Then you won’t have to. None of us have had this much of an interest in a woman before you. Not even Thaddeus, though I bet he won’t admit it just yet. I’m perfectly content with you.Onlyyou.”
Oh, fuck yes.
My cheeks ached from the huge smile that pulled at the corners of my lips. Blaise said the same thing. I wasn’t sure Thaddeus would be on board with it because of the stick shoved up his ass.
“I’m a lucky vampire,” I told him as Thaddeus appeared in the doorway next to Blaise, who winked at me.
“Let’s go. I can sense one close,” Thaddeus told Kai before turning to me. “Enjoy your last night without hunting. Tomorrow, you’ll come with us.”
