“I’ll be ready.”
His eyes narrowed. “You better be. Blaise and Kai should’ve taught you enough to keep you from dying on us, at least. Make sure you practice more before you go to bed.”
I rolled my eyes. “Yes, Thaddeus.”
Kai leaned in and kissed my cheek with his soft lips, and my back straightened. “I’ll see you in the morning.” He got up and went toward his brothers as Blaise rushed toward me with his crazy speed.
“I’ll come check in with you tonight if you want.” He grabbed the back of my head and planted a sensual kiss on my lips.
My face burned as excitement glimmered up my thighs. I’d never been kissed by two different men in such a short time. “Oh, I want.”
Thaddeus sighed. “We’ve got a long day ahead of us tomorrow. Get some rest.”
Blaise chuckled as he stood up straight. “Fine. I’ll visit her another night then.”
I pouted. “Be safe tonight.Allof you.” My eyes darted toward Thaddeus.
He nodded with an almost longing look in his eyes before the three of them vanished from my doorway.
I fell back onto the bed with a groan.
How could I be interested in three different guys and have two of them not only be interested back but be willing to share? It didn’t seem possible, but then, neither did being a vampire.
EIGHT
Training with Blaise had been productive. I mastered leg weight distribution. I was working on twisting my ankle, hip and shoulder in one motion to generate power for my punches. I’d been hitting without throwing my weight into it, and Blaise was beating my ass every fight because of it. The craving for blood had increased from all the energy I’d been exerting as well, and I’d gone up to three blood bags a day because of it.
Blaise decided that once I beat him in sparring three times, I’d get to graduate from him and move on to Thaddeus.
Excitement spurred in my belly at what that meant for me. I wanted to get inside his head and find out how he planned to reward me. I could only hope it had to do with his tongue.
“What do you think?”
I blinked. They were all staring at me with the same concerned expression etched on their beautiful faces. “I’m sorry, what?”
Blaise edged closer since he sat on my right side, his proximity lighting me up. The balmy scent of fresh pine mixed with his usual coal smell. “We asked if you were ready for tonight.”
A shiver zipped through me. “Why wouldn’t I be ready to obliterate some abandoned ass?”
Blaise snorted, leaning back in his chair as him and Kai stared at Thaddeus with exasperated looks over the dinner table.
Thaddeus heaved a sigh as his gaze locked with mine. “Youhaven’t been bestowed the ability to obliterate anything.”
“You still haven’t told me how you do that.” I snatched my glass of blood, thick liquid sloshing around, before gulping it down. The guys cringe everytime they see me eat before I drink, and I internally mock them for it. “But yes, I know. I’ll be useful regardless.”
“Love, I’m serious.” Thaddeus’s eyes pierced mine, and I noticed the tick of his jaw. “Stay out of the way, and try not to be noticed. I don’t particularly fancy the Order’s game of cat and mouse with you. I may not be able to disobey them, but I don’t have to dangle you in front of the abandoned or any other supernatural we may see. Remember, Viktor’s in Emeraldsville.”
Heat bloomed in my chest out toward my fingers and toes.Viktor can stay on the back burner for now. Thaddeus actually cares!
Blaise chuckled, and I shot him a warning look. That vampire needed to stay the fuck out of my head. Who knew what kind of shit that would go through my mind?
“I’ll try to be invisible tonight. Scouts honor.” I held my hand up, palm facing Thaddeus.
His brows furrowed. “Scouts?”
“Girlscouts, actually. And we sold a shit-ton of cookies.”
“Of course you did.” Kai laughed.
