“But can’t handle these supernaturals?” Thaddeus arched a brow at me. “Seems counterintuitive.”
It wasn’t that I couldn’t handle it, but something in my head palpitated at the mention of angels.
Pursing my lips, I tried ignoring the sudden spike in desire around me. “Can someone tell me why I can literallyfeelyour attraction to me?”
They perked up, and the desire faded as Thaddeus removed his hands from me and stepped back.
“What do you mean?” he asked, schooling his features.
“I get a hot tingle when one of you feels...attracted to me.” I moved my hand to my lower abdomen and pressed around where my uterus would be. “Right here.”
“I’m always attracted to you,” Blaise said with a casual shrug.
I rolled my eyes. “Not like that...I mean when you’re sexually attracted to me. I can’t explain how I know it, but I just do.”
“Well, I’m not shy about it, Poppy.”
“You should know how I feel about it,” Kai said with his cheeks tinged pink.
Thaddeus had his eyebrows scrunched together like he was trying to figure something out as he stared at me. “When I touched your thighs, I admit I was enamored.” Thaddeus clicked his tongue. “I find you attractive, but I think my desire for you amplified as I touched you.”
“I wonder if she can control emotions like Kai,” Blaise said, tilting his head as he stared at me. “But at a higher level where she can do it without touching someone. Kind of like the...”
“Yes. Let’s see.” Kai stepped close, grabbing my hand. “Project a feeling onto me.”
I closed my eyes and pictured being wrapped up in his arms, his calloused hands exploring my body.
He sucked in a sharp breath and jerked his hand away. I opened my eyes and noticed all three of them fixing themselves...
An amused smile played on my lips. I was affecting all of them.
“Okay, safe to say she can,” Thaddeus mumbled. “Try a different feeling.”
I closed my eyes and pictured Jax, my mischievous black cat. He’d always mess with me and stole little trinkets when he knew I needed them. Cats were assholes, but he wasmyasshole. Jax was there for me in times I needed him and saw me break down on multiple occasions.
“Are you feeling a sense of amusement? Happiness?” I opened an eye.
“No. What’re you thinking about?”
“My cat,” I told them, a pang of sadness shooting through me. Jax had been with me for as long as I’d been alive. My father had left Jax behind specifically for me.
“Try something else,” Blaise said. “I remember a surge of anger going through me when you were dealing with that douche bag. Maybe you projected your anger onto us?”
“Or we were angry because the bloke was a wanker?” Kai started putting the groceries away.
“You know anger and lust are…”
“Sod-off, Blaise,” Thaddeus growled.
I rolled my eyes, losing interest in the conversation.
I’ll make them all white mocha iced coffee in the morning.
Maybe I could add in a shot of blood.
My fangs dropped at the thought, and I realized I skipped my morning blood bag as they conversed about what I may or may not be able to do. I slid off the counter and grabbed a blood bag of B positive out of the fridge. I sucked it down in seconds, easing that feeling in my gut.
As of now, we knew I could project lustful feelings on someone, possibly anger too, but nothing else. I was hoping for a super-cool ability like Thaddeus or maybe whatever Blaise could do. Even Kai could do whatever emotion he wanted and wasn’t limited.
