“Depends. Will you be a good vampire and let us show you the ropes?”

I swallowed a breath and nodded.

He turned, walking out of the room. Blaise and Kai followed swiftly, and I trailed along behind them.

The hallway was typical. I wasn’t sure what I was expecting, maybe dark walls and creaky wooden floors, but it was none of that. In fact, it was a bit on the fancy side. White walls made the hallway look bigger than it was and the smoky gray hardwood flooring didn’t creak as we walked past a few doors.

“What rooms are those?”

“Our bedrooms,” Kai answered without stopping or turning around.

Three sexy vampires sleeping next to me? I can’t complain about that.

Blaise snorted, and I slid him a curious glance as we went down the oak staircase to the left of the hall that led to the kitchen.

I perked up when I noticed the kitchen was fully furnished and ran a hand over the dark granite counters. The contrast against the white cabinets was nice. “Can I eat real food?”

Kai threw his head back with a laugh as he turned to me. “Yes. We still need to eat every now and then, and we need to drink blood at least once a day to keep away the blood-lust.”

“But you’ll need bloodat leasttwo times a day for a little while since you’re new,” Blaise added.

Thaddeus pulled open the fridge and rummaged through the different bags of blood before pulling one out and throwing it my way.

Without thinking, my hand reached out and caught it. My mouth fell open. “Oh my God! Did you guys see that? I caught it! And Adonis over there threw that bag so fucking fast, but it was like timeslowed!”

Their mouths twitched with amusement, and Thaddeus coughed. “Adonis?”

“Yes, because you’re like a seriously hot Greek God.” I tossed the bag in the air and caught it again. “Now…” I turned to Blaise. “Can you teach me how to use my fangs to open this?”

He stepped forward and snatched the bag.

“Hey!” I swiped for it, but he held it up out of reach. “Give me my blood back!”

Never thought I’d ever say that.

“Hold on.” His fangs descended, and he held the bag close to one of them. “Drop your fangs and just pierce the bag. Pull it slightly, so you don’t rip the whole bag open and spill the blood.” His fangs sunk back up into his gums as he handed the bag over to me.

I opened my mouth and waited a few moments, but nothing came. Taking a deep inhale, I thought about what it was like to drink the blood earlier and my fangs pricked through my gums to reveal themselves.

I grinned as I poked a hole in the bag and moved it a little before pulling back.

“She’s a natural.” Thaddeus’ gaze was intense as he watched me bring it to my mouth and suck the bag dry. My heart beat again as I withdrew the bag and flicked my eyes to him, fangs receding.

“That tasted better than the first.” I walked toward the trash and tossed it. “Why is that?”

“That was A positive.” Blaise smirked, crossing his arms. I tried to ignore the way his biceps bulged from the slight movement. “My personal favorite.”

“The first you had was O negative,” Thaddeus said.

“Well, O negative tastes like shit.”

Kai pressed his tongue into his cheek. “That’s the point. Drinking shitty blood prevents you from going into a blood-lust. Especially, since you’re a young vampire.”

“The better the blood, the more likely you’ll go into blood-lust and crave more,” Blaise explained.

I nodded, rolling my bottom lip into my mouth.

Thaddeus curled his two fingers at us as he turned and walked toward the living room. He plopped down on a chair, and I sat on the sofa in between Blaise and Kai—the best place to be in my humble opinion.
