My gaze swept over the room, and I hummed. It was incredibly clean for a manor the size of this with three men—vampires or not.
There was a fireplace on the far end of the room with a crystal vase filled with crimson roses on the mantle. Fire burned in the iron bed, flames dancing back and forth in a waltz. The scent from the fire was faint as the dark smoke went up through the chimney.
“I gotta ask.” Blaise broke the silence. “Why aren’t you gobsmacked?”
My attention snapped back to the guys.
“It’s not that my mind isn’t blown because it totally is, but freaking out won’t help.” I shrugged as their stares bore into me. “I’d rather skip the dramatics and figure out how to control this so I can go back to a semi-normal life.”
Thaddeus rubbed his chin as they shared a discouraging look with each other. “Do you at least have any questions?”
A fucking ton.I ran a hand through my hair. “Why don’t we start with who the fuck you are?”
THREE
“Our clan’s one of the smallest within the supernatural order. It’s made up of only us three,” Thaddeus said, leaning back in his chair, arms resting on the sides like he was the damn king.
I got that vibe the more I watched him. Thaddeus was diligent, knowledgeable, intense, and fucking sexy.
I could listen to him talk all day. The way he articulated each word with that fucking accent was mesmerizing.
“Supernatural order?” I repeated absentmindedly, gaze secured on his chest. The gray T-shirt he wore was tight, fabric caressing the muscles of his torso like they were precious.
“Vampires, demons, werewolves, faeries, and others.”
“Demons? Wait. What?” I snapped my eyes to his. “What the fuck? First, pixies and now demons?”
His lip twitched up as he fought off a smile. “There are many different clans within the order made up of various supernatural beings.”
“Oh shit!” I scooted to the edge of my seat, soft cushioning of the couch shifting underneath me. “You said there were pixies here, right? Can I see one?”
“You most likely won’t. You may hear them from time to time, but they generally stay within the spiritual realm and tidy from there,” Thaddeus explained.
After a quick sweep of the spotless room, I clicked my tongue. “You’re telling me there are different realms than this one and that you make cute little pixies clean up after you like maids?”
Blaise snorted.
“Of course not,” Kai defended himself. “They live here rent-free. They choose to take care of the manor.”
I ran a hand through my silky strands, hair tickling my skin as it bounced over my shoulders. “Okay, moving on, you’re clan members? How did you become the Draven clan?”
Blaise cracked a crooked smile. “We’re clan members, but we’re also brothers.”
My gaze shifted between the three of them.
They look nothing alike.I blinked a few times.Maybe they have different parents.
Kai offered me a bemused smile. “We’re not blood brothers, but we’ve been together since Thaddeus turned us three-hundred and three years ago.”
A cold shudder shot through me.Ew. I’m lusting after men old enough to be my great-great-a few more greats-grandpa.
“Damn. You’re old.”
“Immortal,” Blaise interrupted. “Not old.”
“Not exactly comforting.” I waved him off. “So, Thaddeus turned you all like me? Does that make me part of your clan?”
They stilled, avoiding eye contact.
