Gabe’s hands went around his head, stroking his thumbs on his cheeks, silent, his lips parted. Feeling Damian breathe softly, trapped under him. Watching that face filled with smeared blood and dirt, his wild hair which had lost whatever haircut it got once. He was trying to find something there, anything, to keep the words in, those words burning his lips.

Unable to hold back as he whispered those tiny flames softly. “I love you…” Watching those steel eyes go wide, a soft dread in him. That Damian would freak out. Then what?Alone on this island, there was nowhere to run. Holding his head, waiting.

Damian breathed harder, floating on those words. He reached up and put his palm on Gabe’s face. Feeling him lean into the touch, those hazel eyes silent, hoping, but Damian knew he had already been lost the moment they had first kissed, so he gave Gabe a small smile, trying to put some strength into his words. “I love you too, Gabriel…” Watching that relief flood his eyes with his tears, but Damian just pulled him down into a kiss. A slow, lush kiss, roaming his mouth, drinking his taste, eating his breath. Holding his head then on his chest, cradling him in his arms.

Eating that pig which they had roasted, that scorching meat dripping fat, and Gabe just watched Damian eat, lost in how his jaw moved, how he licked his lips, his fingers, swallowed… a gush of warmth rushing down his body.

Meeting his steel eyes when he looked up. “You’re not eating?”

“I am…” He bit into the piece he was holding, almost moaning at the taste.

Damian smiled. “If we manage to hunt more, we’ll be grand. Protein and fat. Just what we need.”

“We could catch them… and not kill them straight away.”

Damian swallowed. “What? And…?”

“We could catch a pair and breed them.” Thrilled a bit at his idea, meeting those smiling, mocking eyes.

“Gabe… breed them? What the fuck…” He laughed softly, carving another chunk of meat off the bones. “Here. Eat more.”

“I’m not hungry, ate enough.”

“Nonsense. You should eat, you’re too skinny.”

Gabe shrugged and looked at the flames.

Damian sighed. “Ok… you’re upset because of your pigs? Your idea?”

“No…”, but he was, a bit. He poked the fire, not even looking at him. Feeling his heat as he sat close. His hand on his jaw, so he turned to his touch. Brewing that small hate.

“We’ll do it, ok? We have nothing else to do here but to try out things. Build a pen, or whatever, and watch them fuck and make baby pigs… But…” He stroked Gabe’s cheek. “Those little pigs will need to die. I need to be sure your heart won’t rip when we gut them, and then eat their little juicy bodies.”

Gabe swatted at his smiling face, playfully. “Beast!”

Damian’s eyes gleamed as he leant in for a kiss. “That’s my nickname…” Kissing him softly, he then pushed that piece of meat into Gabe’s hand. “Eat. I won’t take ‘no’ as an answer.”

“Big boss guy…” A smirk on his lips, but he ate, chewing that soft meat, even if the thought of killing those piglets swam into his mind. Swallowing that fatty juice. Fuck…

“Second thoughts?”

He looked at Damian, his smile. “No… we need food, and this is a stable way, having those pigs.”

“Yeah… it’s not going to be easy though, catch two alive and make sure they match too.”

“I’ll go with you this time.”

“I won’t leave you alone again.”

Gabe’s eyes welled up, and he just ate to mask how moved he was. An abysmal fatigue tainted with despair creeping into him. He shivered, feeling Damian’s hand on his shoulder, his voice filled with concern.

“You’re unwell?”

“Just tired… I get the shivers when I’m exhausted.”

“You barely slept, I bet.”

“Because you did? Don’t lie to me.”
