“You gon’ kill me anyway, so what the fuck does it matter?” she spat.
“If you cooperate, and that nigga comes through on his end of the bargain, I can promise not to kill you. Just don’t make this shit harder than it has to be.”
“Jakari and Harmoni were together when I got pregnant. I always hated that bitch because I felt like she was the reason Jakari didn’t let the world know about my son. I tried to make things work with that nigga, but all he wanted was her. When I popped up at her crib and told her about my son, she sucker punched me and snuck me when I wasn’t paying attention, so I had it on my mind to get back at her. I had my sister set her up, and we jumped her and robbed her. After that, I never saw her post Jakari again.
“Once she started posting you, I vowed to take you from her since she took my family from me. I didn’t know anything about you, but you walked into that bar around the same time I was trying to find information on you. I just wanted to take you from her because she doesn’t deserve to be happy. I didn’t know anything about you and my son’s dad having any beef. I did all this simply because I hate yo’ lame ass bitch,” she blurted. She said that shit so smoothly like it wasn’t fucked up.
“Man, you one sick, delusional ass bitch. You had a baby by that girl’s nigga. Then, when they broke up, you went after her new nigga. You know you obsessed, right?” Trell asked.
“Fuck you, Trell. You don’t know my life or what I’ve dealt with in this shit. Those two muthafuckas took everything fromme, and regardless of what you want to believe, they are not ever gonna leave each other alone.”
I listened to what Diamond said and realized that she really was crazy. I now understood why that nigga wanted custody of his son. This chick was not mentally stable at all. She really wanted Harmoni’s life. If I let her live, it was no guarantee that she wouldn’t try to harm the woman I loved.
“You don’t think you need help, ma? I never heard someone admit to being obsessed with another female like it was normal. That shit ain’t cool. I ain’t never seen a nigga that I wanted to be like. You gotta be yourself. You took this shit to the extreme. Twice! If I let you live, how do I know you won’t try to kill my girl? You clearly on some obsessed type shit, and it’s not gon’ end well if I let you make it out of this,” I firmly stated.
“Didn’t you just promise not to kill me? Ain’t nobody teach you that all a man got is his word, or did you have a dyke for a mammy who had to play the daddy role? You were clearly raised by a hoe, and just like Jakari’s dumb ass, this basic ass bitch got yo’ head gone. I’m tired of hearing niggas be so worried about what’s going to happen to her. She’s fucking with yo’ opp! That’s not yo’ hoe for real!” Diamond spat.
Before I knew what was happening, I had punched her in her face so hard that I felt my knuckle crack. When I did that, blood splashed from her mouth onto my shirt, and two of her veneers flew out. Trell was laughing so hard that he started coughing. This was a sick ass nigga. That’s exactly why I kept him around.
“Man, smoke this hoe and stop playing. She speaking on mommas and being disrespectful while she on her deathbed. She’s crazy, dawg. I can’t take this shit. Just go on and pop her ass. She’s clearly ready to die,” Trell hissed.
“Say, Diamond. You real disrespectful to be in the position that you’re in. I wanna see you live up to your full potential. I don’t want your son to be motherless, but if you don’t use yourbrain from this second on, I promise your bitch ass is gonna lose it!” I said as I invaded her personal space.
“I just got my teeth done! Why the fuck would you do something like that? That shit is not cool, Black. It ain’t shit that I said to make you want to hit a woman. Use that energy on these niggas in the streets. I’m a female. You don’t get no cool points or street cred for that. Letting niggas hoe you and fuck yo bitch, but you wanna take your frustration out on me. Nigga, please!”
Before she could finish speaking, Trell removed himself and went outside so he wouldn’t fuck up our plans. He really wanted to kill Diamond, so I commended him for walking away. I couldn’t blame him because this girl was not letting up. She kept asking to see her son, but I told her that she had messed that up for herself. Maybe now she would shut up and act like she had some sense. I was ready to figure out what would be done with Diamond because, after tomorrow, I was going to get rid of her one way or another. Diamond was a very beautiful girl, but as soon as she opened her mouth and spoke, she became ugly as fuck. She had a hood, ratchet demeanor, and no matter how hard she tried to pretend to be boujee, she couldn’t hide the real her.
That night, I called Jakari and asked him how the money was looking. He assured me that he would have it all tomorrow. I reminded him that if he made any wrong moves at all, he would lose his son. We agreed that in exchange for the money, he could have his baby momma and his son back. I told him that I had more stipulations, but we would square that away face to face. I knew not to do too much talking over the phone, so I ended the call after telling him I would reach out in the morning. Trell wanted to murk Diamond so bad, and I kept having to convince him to calm down over the weekend.
The first night we met Diamond at the bar, Trell said she gave him a bad vibe, and he knew something about her was off. Everyday since that, I have been finding his instincts to be more and more correct. We both knew that in order to get what we wanted, we had to play the game. I used Diamond, and Trell used her sister Taylor. Neither one of them was too smart, and that made our plan even easier to execute.
I cooked a quick meal because I knew that once JJ’s little greedy ass woke up, he would be fussing to eat. I reluctantly fed Diamond’s annoying ass too. Trell and I spent the night smoking and plotting. That was my boy, and I wanted to tell him what was on my mind, but I decided to take what Moni had told me to the grave. Not knowing how I would deal with the shit, I was just gon’ handle it like a man.
Since I got the news about Moni and Jakari, it had been on my mind to take that nigga’s bread and still kill his ass, along with killing his talking ass baby momma. I just didn’t want their son growing up in the system because I knew what it did to young black men, so I was on the fence.
The next morning, I woke up and decided that I would make that bitch ass nigga Jakari sweat a little. I wasn’t about to call him until way later. I had to make his mind wander. Trell was on whatever time I was on, so he agreed. We had our people following Jakari for the past few days, so we knew his every move. We also set shit up to have men in place when the exchange went down, just to be on the safe side.
When my men reported back, they said that Jakari had been making all kinds of moves and making major money over the past forty-eight hours. That’s what I liked to hear. This nigga was really a standup guy when it came to his family. It seemed that he would do whatever it took to get them back. That was admirable. He just needed to know if he wanted to keep them safe, he needed to make smarter choices moving forward.
Once I woke Diamond up, I brought JJ into the room with her. I untied her and let her spend time with her baby. Notseeing him was hard for her, and I just wanted to be a little nicer to the bitch today. We didn’t know how shit was gone end for her ass. I told her that she could leave the room and fix them some breakfast. It was a lot of microwaveable foods in the kitchen for her to cook. I didn’t trust her ass around the stove.
“I want you to understand that if you try anything funny, it will be your last day on this earth. I’m gonna let you chill with JJ until it’s time for y’all to go. Get in the kitchen and fix y’all breakfast. I will carry him to his highchair,” I told her as I allowed her to leave the bedroom.
“If you gon’ kill me, just do the shit. I don’t like surprises. Why all of a sudden I can cook breakfast and roam free?”
Trell instantly intervened from the front room.
“You can roam free because he said so. If you try something fishy, I’m going to smoke you! Do what he said, shut the fuck up, and feed yo’ child while you still can!” Trell yelled.
I needed Trell to chill sometimes. That nigga was always in defense mode, no matter the situation. Diamond breathing too hard was enough to set this nigga off. After hearing her speak on why she hated Harmoni, now Trell really couldn’t stand her ass. I shook my head as I motioned for her to get into the kitchen. I kept a close ass eye on her because I knew she was grimy. All the doors and windows were bolted. If she made one wrong move, it would definitely be her last. As I watched Diamond interact with her son and comfort him throughout the day, she earned a little of my respect back. Her son was fussy due to being in the same space for days, and I understood that because I was ready to move around myself. Had Jakari done shit the right way from jump, we wouldn’t be going through all this shit.
It was now after 6:00 pm, and the sun was starting to go down. I felt like I had that nigga J on pins and needles long enough. I also gave him a little extra time to come up with my bread because I was in a good mood. While Trell kept an eye onDiamond, I stepped outside, dialed Jakari’s number, and waited for him to pick up.
“Hello?” he answered in a panicked tone.
“You got it all? If not, you know what time it is,” I spat.
“I got every dime, man. Please just give me my son back.”
