“Yeah, nigga. Who the fuck else would it be?”

“Listen, bruh. My son is innocent. Don’t put him in our shit. Let him and his momma go, and I’ll replace everything I took!” Jakari damn near cried.

“Nigga, do you think that’s enough? You just wanna give me back what you took? Hell nah! The price been went up. I need five mil by tomorrow. I don’t give a fuck what you gotta do. If you want yo’ son and his momma to still be breathing on Monday morning, I better have it in full by tomorrow night!” I barked.

“That shit is impossible. You giving me one day. Please, man, I’m begging you to keep them out of this.”

“It only took you five minutes to kill my people and take my shit. Figure it out, my boy. If you think about trying anything funny, I’ll make sure you get a front-row seat to little man and his momma’s brains being splattered. See you tomorrow. I’ll call you with details of the exchange. Make sure you ready,” I said and hung up.

A few hours passed, and I could no longer take the smell of Diamond. I decided to give her a shower and feed her, then let her see her son for a second. When I walked into the room and removed the duct tape from her mouth, she started blurting out shit.

“You doing all of this because of that bitch Harmoni? So, this was all a plan to get back at my baby daddy behind a bitch? He’snever gonna leave her alone. You trying to kill the wrong person. I shouldn’t even be involved in this shit!” Diamond screamed.

Trell walked into the room and made her repeat what she’d just said.

“Harmoni don’t know that nigga, and how the fuck do you know my girl’s name? Bitch, you a sick, stalked out ass hoe. Lying is not gon’ save you. I’m at war with yo’ baby daddy, and you just happen to be a casualty.”

“Harmoni was with my baby daddy for five years, and they still fucking around. If yo’ dumb ass didn’t know that, then maybe it’s you that’s the casualty. You at war with him but dating his ex. Maybe the plan was to set you up from jump. If you don’t believe me, get my phone and go through my pictures. I have all kinds of screenshots.

I went through her phone and found so many pictures of my girl and Jakari. I had really been bamboozled and didn’t want to believe it. My heart was racing, and I didn’t know what the fuck was going on. Had I been set up by the woman I was in love with? I told Trell to watch that bitch Diamond, and I left. I made it to our condo in thirty minutes—fuck an hour drive. I took my gun and put it on my waist before unlocking my door and going inside.

Harmoni was in the kitchen cooking when I crept up behind her. She felt my presence and turned around, startled. I hated that I would have to kill the woman I loved, but to be set up and used was some unforgivable shit. As soon as I moved here, I had beef with that nigga. What were the odds that she’s his ex of five years and never mentioned the nigga name? This had to be a setup! Hate and disgust filled in my eyes as I looked at her, causing her smile to fade.

I lifted my shirt, exposing my gun. “I already know everything. Now, I want you to tell me, and I want you to thinkcarefully about how you respond because your life depends on it,” I spat.

Her facial expression changed. Tears rolled down her face, and she grabbed her stomach.

“I wanted to tell you about the baby, but I was scared that you would leave me. I only slept with my ex once, and it was before we were official, so I really do believe the baby is yours. I know in my heart that this is your son, Rowdy.”

Son? What the fuck was she talking about a baby and it being mine? I pulled my gun off my waist and walked up closer to where Harmoni stood.

PROMISED TO A BOSS BUT A MENACE GOT MY HEART

Harmoni was in the kitchen cooking when I crept up behind her. She felt my presence and turned around, startled. Son?What the fuck was she talking about? A baby, and it is mine? I pulled my gun off my waist and walked closer to where Harmoni stood.

“You think I’m a fool, huh? You’ve been plotting on me from the jump, so you and that hoe ass nigga could set me up. Jokes on you, though. Your little game is coming to an end sooner than you expected, and that nigga ain’t around to save you!”

“What are you talking about, Rowdy? You are really starting to scare me!” Harmoni cried.

We were now face to face, and although I loved her, it was taking everything in me not to slump her ass. Part of me wanted to hear her out, but another side said to just end it all now. I knew she would only lie, and that would make me even angrier.

“You can keep the pregnancy lies for Jakari. Yeah, I know you and that nigga been plotting on me, but y’all didn’t think to tie up all the loose ends. Diamond’s dumb ass told me everything, and before you think about telling lies, I already have the proof,” I told her as I pulled out Diamond’s phone and showed her the pictures.

After powering Diamond’s phone back off, I slid it into my pocket while Harmoni stood there looking dumb as hell. I was just a second away from doing what I came there to do.

“How do you know Diamond and Jakari? I’m really so confused, and you pulled a gun out on me. What the fuck is going on, right now? I’m not even mad at you for doing all this. I’m lost, and I just need you to tell me what all of this is about.”
