Rolling over the next morning, I find Lucas is gone and his side of the bed is cold. He must have gotten up early which disappoints me a little. It would have been nice to wake up in his arms. Stretching, I find that I’m deliciously sore and everything that happened last night comes flooding back to me. I can’t believe I had sex with Lucas. The way he looked into my eyes last night as we made love made me feel like I’m the most important person in his life. I felt the love pouring off him. He makes me feel safe and loved, like nothing and no one can hurt me. It still feels like a dream like I’m going to wake up and it’s all been a fantasy and everything I’m feeling won’t be real which scares me because this is what I’ve always wanted with him. I want to build a home with him and have kids who look just like him. My Cafe has always been my dream but to have kids with him would be everything. Since we didn’t use protection last night, it could happen sooner than I thought and I couldn’t be happier. Smiling, I lay my hands on my stomach thinking about it. I turn my head and find Lucas standing at the door with a cup of coffee in his hands and a soft smile on his face like he knows what I'm thinking about. Walking over he bends down to give me a soft kiss.
“Morning baby. I thought you could use this while getting ready”
Sitting up, I grab the cup and take my first sip, closing my eyes in bliss because there’s nothing like the first sip in the morning.
“Thank you Lucas, I was just coming down to get a cup”
“How are you feeling after last night? Are you sore? I wasn't too rough with you, was I?”
I can feel my face go ten different shades of red with him asking, maybe one day I won’t always act shy around him. “Just a little but nothing too bad” just thinking about it has me wanting to go again, being sore be damned. As if he can see my thoughts he chuckles softly kisses my forehead and heads for the door.
“Go get ready baby. I'll be driving you to work today. I'm meeting up with the guys today at the shop since it's your brother's day off. We leave in less than an hour.” walking away he comes back a second later giving me a soft look. “I love you, Rhylie”
I can feel the sting of tears in the backs of my eyes with his declaration. It still shocks me that this is something real. “I love you too Lucas” watching him walk away for real this time I take a moment to thank god that he brought Lucas into my life and that I finally have everything that I’ve always wanted. Draining the last of my coffee I get out of bed and head to my closet pulling on a pair of leggings and my Naughty beans t-shirt. I should get some more t-shirts made with my favorite coffee sayings on them. I could even start selling them in the cafe. It's something to think about. I'll talk to Faith and get her opinion on it as well. Heading to the bathroom I stop and look at myself in the mirror and reflecting back at me is someone I don't recognize. I now have a glow and my eyes seem brighter. I'm happy this is what true happiness looks like, being in love and having everything you've always wanted. Throwing my hair up in a bun adding some mascara and lipgloss I'm ready to go. Walking down the stairs because I need another coffee, I can hear Lucas on the phone probably to my brother. It wouldn't surprise me if all four of them are on that call. Going over some sort of plan not sure what they think they're going to do but I’ll let them be. Rolling my eyes at their overprotectiveness I head to the kitchen for my much-needed second cup of coffee checking the time on my phone. We have to be out of here if I want to be at the cafe on time. I have interviews today and can't be late for those. I really hope Isabella works out. She had the most promise out of everyone and sounds like she would be a perfect fit. She just graduated from school but has been baking her whole life. She sounds a little shy but I'm sure she's going to fit into our little group perfectly. Skylar, who hasn't worked for me long. She's such a shy, sweet girl you can't help but love. You can tell she hasn't had such a great life. You can see the haunted look in her eyes. It just makes you want to hug her and tell her everything is going to be okay. She also has a crush on Damon. I saw it the first time he came in to pick up his and Lucas’s coffee order. I'll let her secret crush go for now but I can see the way Damon looks at her as well and I can't wait to see what happens. Same with Faith and my brother. Maybe Victor and Isabella will hit it off and wouldn't that just be perfect for all of us to be in love and happy? I must have a goofy look on my face because Lucas walks into the kitchen and says.
“What's with that look on your face baby girl?”
Realizing I have a grin on my face dreaming of us all being happy and together I don't bother telling him that, I embarrass myself enough around him. Draining the last of my coffee, I put the cup in the sink and turn around ”Nothing at all. Are you ready to go? I have my first interview coming in an hour and want to get there so I can set up. I can already tell it's going to be a long day, can't we play hookie and stay in bed all day?” Pouting, I look up at Lucas and he wraps his arms around me, bending down he gives me such a sweet kiss that steals my breath away. Pulling back he kisses my forehead and says
“Sorry Ry, we both have a lot to do today otherwise I would have no problem dragging you back upstairs again so I can have a repeat of last night. But once we get home I’ll order us some food, draw you a nice bath and we can both relax, how does that sound?”
“That sounds great Lucas. Let's get out of here before I change my mind for real this time.” Grabbing my phone I walk to the door to slip on a pair of converse shoes and walk out with Lucas locking up behind me. I'm not even going to ask how he has a key to my place knowing my brother probably gave him a copy. Walking to his truck there’s zero chance I’m getting into that thing without some help. I'm short and no need to embarrass myself anymore. Lucas has no such problems. He picks me up like I weigh next to nothing and places me on the seat with a kiss on my lips. He closes my door and hops in himself watching his arm muscles move makes me squirm in my seat licking my lips he gives me a smirk and pulls out of my driveway. Grabbing my hand he kisses the back of it and lays it on his leg. We sit in comfortable silence. It's only a twenty-minute drive to the cafe and his shop so it doesn’t take long this time of day to drive in. Pulling in the parking lot he shuts off the engine.
“Wait for me to get your door baby and I’ll help you down”
Walking around, he opens my door and helps me down, dragging me down his front so I feel every inch of him and I hear him groan and his erection digging into my stomach. “Let’s get you inside Ry before I say fuck it and take you home instead. I don’t think your brother, who I can see is already in the shop, would like it very much if he saw me right now mauling you.”
Whimpering at the thought I let him drag me into the cafe a little reluctantly, the bell above the door chiming and I see Faith and Skylar right away seeing who it is gives us a big smile.
“Good morning guys, I’m surprised you even came in today after your hot date last night.” Wiggling her eyebrows at us I roll my eyes at my best friend and turn to Lucas.
“Do you want me to make coffee for you guys before you go?”
“Sure baby, that’s great”
Walking away I go about making their coffees, already knowing how each of them take it since they are here so much making one for myself since I’m going to need it once Lucas leaves. I know Faith is going to want all the details of last night. Handing over the coffees Lucas bends down and gives me a kiss.
“Thank you, Ry I’ll see you later baby I love you. Oh don’t forget about the panic button it’s right under the cash register”
“Love you too”
Watching him walk out the door I can feel Faith drilling a hole with her eyes at the side of my head. I might as well get this over with turning towards her. She has a big smile on her face and she grabs me by the arms squealing she says.
“Bitch, tell us everything and don’t you dare leave any details out”
Blowing out a deep breath, I jumped right into our date and how our night ended perfectly.
