“Going to lose comms,” Liam said to the people monitoring them on the other side of the line. Liam looked over at Oliver, all the humor from before gone from his face. “Agent Archer, you’re the highest-ranking MI6 agent onsite. We’ll need you on the ground to make sure these arseholes are taken care of and to coordinate with us for however long we have working comms.”

Oliver looked annoyed for a split second before his expression smoothed out into that stiff-upper-lip British look that always made Alexei think their pants were too tight. Oliver’s gaze cut toward Sean, a flicker of understanding in his gaze, before he nodded.

“I’ll stay on comms. You know which encrypted channel to access. Sign on through the onboard computer when you reach the car,” Oliver said.

Sean tugged at Alexei’s hand, all the warning he got before Sean ran forward and they could only follow. They ran through walls and people, fritzing out electronics as they went, ignoring the shocked yells and gasps they left in their wake. Alexei concentrated on making sure he didn’t hinder Sean in any way.

“This better not become a habit,” Sean threw over his shoulder as they crossed through a wall and into the building’s reception lobby.

“What? Run through casino?” Alexei asked.

“Remember what happened the last time we were at a casino?”

“Was fun before got shot with neuro-jammer gun.”

Sean squeezed his hand in warning. “Now you’re just asking for a repeat. I don’t want to spend my honeymoon by your bedside in a hospital.”

“Spend it with me in firefight.”

“What do you think we’re doing?”

“Arguing like an old married couple when your wedding was only a couple days ago,” Liam told them. “Can we focus, please?”

They ran through the front door, ignoring the startled looks of the resort workers and guests out front. The courtyard had a circular drive lined with private chauffeured cars and ones rented out to guests by the resort. Guests who flew in had a choice of either option, while those who arrived by boat sometimes came with their own vehicles.

Alexei just hoped the one waiting for them had enough horsepower to get them to the harbor in time.

“I’m driving,” Liam said as they ran toward the valet person frantically waving his arms and pointing at the sports car Alexei wished he had time to admire.

“No you’re not,” Alexei retorted.

“Both of you shut the hell up.I’mdriving. You guys are on gun duty,” Sean retorted.

Alexei nodded approvingly at his husband and put on a burst of speed to vault over the hood of the car so he could claim the front passenger side seat instead of Liam. They scrambled into the car and two seconds later were peeling out of the parking spot. Alexei could smell the burning rubber as they headed down the long drive way.

“How far is the harbor?” Sean asked.

Alexei tapped at the control panel, pulling up the GPS before syncing the car’s communication system with the MI6 agents on the ground. “ETA eight minutes.”

“Find us a shorter way that doesn’t involve phasing, Lyosha.”

Alexei did just that.

“That’s the harbor,”Liam said in a calm voice that defied the death grip he had on Sean’s shoulder, fingers bunching the fabric of his shirt.

“I am aware of that,” Sean replied through gritted teeth.

“You are driving toward the water.”

“I’m driving toward the yacht.”

“The yacht is pulling away from the pier. Next time, I’m driving.”
