“We did.” I smiled, threading my fingers through her hair. “How are you feeling about that?”

“Feeling like I would enjoy a repeat when we wake up.” She grinned and leaned up to kiss me again. “You?”

I let out my own laugh. “Feeling like I’m the luckiest son of a bitch on the whole fucking planet.”

She snuggled into me with a purr, and I knew it wasn’t even just a feeling. In this moment, there definitely wasn’t a single soul out there luckier than me.

Jude was right there when I opened my eyes in the morning, his arm around my waist and his breathing smooth and even with my head tucked under his chin. Some bits of him weren’t as asleep as the rest.

My whole body tingled from the memory of last night.

I’d slept with Jude.

And I wanted to again.

I’d felt safe around him from the moment we met, and now, with us naked and cozy in his bed, everything felt that much better. Frustration simmered in my chest over all the years I’d lost getting to be this close to him because Tyler was too insecure for a pack. I didn’t need a scent match to want Jude, and maybe that would’ve made Tyler even more uncomfortable.

Well, fuck Tyler.

I wasn’t bound by the leash of his insecurities anymore.

Wiggling impossibly closer, I nestled into Jude’s warmth. His arm around me tightened and he drew in a slow deep breath before relaxing.

“Good morning,” he rumbled.

“Good morning.” I rolled over, pulling him with me so I could enjoy the weight of him squishing me into the mattress.

“I take it this means you’re not having regrets?” Jude asked gently, raising up to comfortably look down at my face.

“I promise I’m a happy omega.” I inched my legs apart so he could settle between them. “Could be a little happier, though. Just saying.”

Jude laughed, dipping down to kiss me, his fingers gliding their way over my skin. “Have I awoken the Kraken? Are you going to be insatiable now?”

“What can I say? Feeling safe and treasured apparently makes me horny.” I wanted to recreate last night, preferably every day for the rest of forever.

“So what you’re saying is I should definitely not start slacking on my workouts?”

“I’d say that’s a very good assumption.”

I arched with a whimper when Jude guided his fingers to my inner thigh and farther to my clit, coaxing up some extra slick. He didn’t need to give me much attention for that, with my body so ready for a replay.

This time, we weren’t in the dark. Daylight glowed at the edges of the curtains, illuminating the planes of his face and the tight muscle down his body. His work shirts really didn’t do him justice.

Somehow, having him touch me in the morning versus the quiet of night magnified everything. I was on display now, not covered by darkness and blankets. Just Jude.

I shuddered, biting my lip, and lifting one of my knees to give him better access while he teased a finger into me.

He hadn’t watched me so intently last night, or at least I hadn’t noticed if he did. Now he studied me, shifting his touch incrementally, testing speeds and patterns to see how I responded. Having his hands on me at all was plenty of excitement, but he very quickly found what he was looking for. Each thrust of his fingers was electric, my back arching hard, helpless sounds tumbling from my lips that he muffled with his own mouth until I was pawing frantically at him.

Tension pulled so tight I thought I might implode before I hit the edge.

Jude’s pace was relentless, perfect, unravelling the control I had over my own body. The dam burst in one glorious strike of lightning.

My muscles surrendered and slick gushed all over the two of us. Jude dipped to my throat, teeth scraping over sensitive skin, the tempo of his fingers slowing incrementally until I was bucking with each thrust.

“You’re making me feel so proud of myself, Maddie.”

With my head swimming and my ears ringing, I managed to cobble together a single word. “Why?”
