He smiled again and dragged his top teeth over his bottom lip. “Hi.”
I giggled. “Hi, Crescent.”
Were we both nervous? I mean, this was our first date after all. I didn’t expect this from him though. He was a little shy. Looking away, smiling and stuff. Him being a little nervous made it easier for me. So easy that I decided, hmm… let me fuck with him a little. Since he wassooonervous with me.
With confidence, I rested my elbow on the table and peered over at him with a seductive look in my eyes. “You trying to finesse me out of my panties?”
He laughed, with furrowed brows. “Man, what?”
“Nice car, roses, expensive wine… empty restaurant. I’d say somebody was trying to get lucky tonight,” I joked.
“Whatever,” He said, steady wearing that smile. All coy like. Yeah, Crescent was nervous and I found that sexy as hell. I didn’t know why, I just did.
He gazed across the table at me and asked, “You had a good day?”
Flirting, I said, “Mmhmm. It’s better now.”
Again, he smiled and looked away. I was enjoying this. A lot. So much that I wanted to grab his hand, find the bathroom, and suck his dickrealgood.
“Is that right?” He asked, a little fire building behind his eyes.
I squirmed a little in my seat and smiled. “Mmhmm.”
“It’s gon’ get a lot better.”
“Really? I’m excited.”
“You should be.”
As if he had a mental switch, he went from shy to daunting almost immediately, causing chills to run down my spine. I massaged the nape of my neck, cleared my throat, and picked the menu up. I looked at the top of it, looking for the name of the restaurant, except it was empty.
“Where are we?”
“What will beConstellation Steakhouse.”
I looked up at him. “Whatwillbe?”
With his eyes on the menu, he nodded. “It’s not open yet. Will be in a couple of weeks.”
“This yours?”
He looked up at me. “Yeah, it’s mine.”
I drew back. “And you didn’t hire Couture to design for you? I feel betrayed.”
He locked eyes with me. “I won’t be doing business with Couture anymore.”
I frowned. “And why is that?”
“I don’t need shit else getting in the way of what I want.”
“What that mean?”
“Exactly what it sounds like. Business and pleasure don’t mix. At all!”
I laughed and scanned the menu. “I feel special.”
“You should. Because you are.”
