“Did Storm get to name it?”Dad’s brows raise in surprise.

“Actually, no.”I smile to myself and spend the next thirty minutes telling Dad all about the café and Artie.

Chapter 17

Storm

Closingtheelectricalbox,I spin around to face the woman.Mrs.O’Neil has been following me around since I got here.

Some people do it because they don’t trust strangers being in their home.Others do it out of boredom or curiosity. Some are because they’re lonely.Either way, I never mind.It helps my day go by faster.

Sometimes I wonder if people know I'm in the Savage Wolves and are nervous to have me in their house, but I’ve never had anyone comment about it.

I don’t wear my cut to work, I keep things professional, and I don’t mention the club at all. That being said, I don’t hide my affiliation and if people ask, I happily tell them I'm the vice president of the club.Typically, that gets a lot of questions.

“All right, Mrs.O’Neil.You are all set and ready to cook with that new electric oven.”I hand over the bill to her with a smile.

“I don’t understand why you ride with that club.”She frowns at me as she begins filling out her check.

“What do you mean?”I ask with amusement lacing my words.

I could get mad or annoyed to deal with this once again, but what’s the point? She’s a crazy old woman and she’s going to give me her opinion whether or not I want it.

“You’re too nice for them. You know how to smile, unlike the rest of them. You’re too handsome.”She hands the check over and watches me carefully.

“I'm too nice and handsome to be part of a motorcycle club?”I arch a brow.

“You’re going to get hurt one of these days and then who will I have to handle my electrical work?”She folds her arms over her chest and glares at me.

“I’ve never gotten hurt before.I'm sure I’ll be fine.”I smile as I pack up my things and carry them out to my SUV.

I don’t have long before I need to meet Chopper and I haven’t had a chance to eat yet.I didn’t think about asking Dixie to make me anything to bring until Porter walked in the room and I needed an excuse.

I hate lying to him, but I'm not sure how else to make this work.I know he won't approve and there’s no way I can stay away from her.Sooner or later, he’ll figure it out.I have to hope and pray by the time that happens, he’ll be ok with the idea of us being together.

I'm hoping another member does something stupid like fall in love with Roxy or Oakley and Porter finds out about them first.Sure, he’ll still be mad at me, but not nearly as much as he would be right now.

I take a big bite of the sandwich as I pull away from Mrs.O’Neil’s house. It’s amazing.I don’t know what Dixie does to the food she makes, but everything is always better than if I made it myself or bought it somewhere else.

The guys are going to be so upset when she finally opens the café and isn't cooking at the clubhouse anymore.Porter and I keep joking about how the café will soon be the mess hall at the clubhouse because all the guys will end up going there instead.I know I’ll be eating my meals at the café, anything to see Dixie.

Man, if she doesn’t sneak into my room tonight, I might be sneaking into hers.I’m not sure how I feel about that though. Her sisters have no boundaries.I'm sure they come right into her room without knocking.I don’t want to get caught in Dixie’s room.I’d never hear the end of it.

Roxy would blow it out of proportion and flip out at us.Porter would know within the hour and I’d have to leave town or face his wrath. There’s no way I’d leave without Dixie though.

Oakley… She’s harder to predict. You never really know what she’s got up her sleeves. She already suspects Dixie and I are together, but she hasn’t said a word to me.I'm sure she’s biding her time and waiting for the perfect opportunity.I might need to corner her before that and figure out a way to convince her to keep quiet.

Oakley doesn’t give a crap though. She doesn’t feel this intense need to control everything like Roxy does. She’s happy going with the flow, at least until she gets angry. Then all bets are off and she’s just as much of a loose cannon as Roxy.

My sweet Little Fox is so different from her sisters, yet so similar. She’s soft spoken and gentle. She has a kind smile and doesn’t dress like a bike bunny in any way.Yet, I’ve seen other sides of her.I’ve seen the cut-throat woman she can be.The rough and abrasive side, complete with a scowl and leather boots.

I love it.I love every side of her.I look forward to riling her up and seeing her get angry.I enjoy lying in bed with her and getting the soft and gentle side.I love watching her in the kitchen and seeing her take charge and command the room to notice her talents. She’s amazing and I'm a lucky man to have her.

“Hey, are you ready?”Chopper asks as soon as I climb out of my car I parked in front of my apartment at the clubhouse.I normally park it at Savage Repairs, but I didn’t feel like it today.

“Yeah, let me get changed and I'm ready.”

I unlock my apartment door and step inside.I move around and enter my room, a smile lifting the corner of my lips when I find Dixie laying in the center of my bed with her eyes closed.
