“What are you doing here, Little Fox?”I murmur as I lean down and press a soft kiss to her temple.

“Mmm,” she groans as she stretches and slowly blinks her eyes open.“Hey.”A smile appears on her lips as soon as her eyes lock on mine.

“Hey, what are you doing here?”I settle on the edge of the bed and brush her hair out of her face.

“Your sheets smell like you.”She lifts her shoulder in a little shrug like that’s all the reason she needs to be in my apartment.“Are you mad?”

“Mad?Not at all.If anything, finding you in my bed unexpectedly makes me wish Chopper wasn’t waiting for me so I could climb in next to you.”

“Storm!”She swats at my chest, but there’s no anger in her tone.

“I hope you’re here when I get back too.”

“I’ll see what I can do about that.”

“I need to get changed and head out.I'm sure Chopper’s already wondering where I am.”I sigh and run my hand through my hair.

I want nothing more than to climb in this bed behind Dixie and take a nap with her.I want to ignore the world around us and pretend I'm not the vice president of the Savage Wolves Motorcycle Club.

Can't we just be Storm and Dixie?

Chapter 18

Dixie

“Canwemovethesink too?”I scrunch up my nose as I glance at Chopper.

I’ve been lucky with this renovation. Most of the things I need worked on can be done by someone in the club. Not only will that keep the costs down, but it’s easier to work with people I already know.

“We can do whatever you’d like, sweetheart.”Chopper tugs on my pony tail as he walks by, making me chuckle.

Where Chopper’s been in love with Roxy our entire lives, he’s always treated Oakley and me like sisters.I love when he’s around and we get to spend time with each other, though that happens less and less as we’ve gotten older.

“What else do you want changed?”He peeks up at me from his kneeling position on the ground. He’s checking under the sink. For what?I don’t know, but he seems like he knows what he’s doing.

“I want two dishwashers added and another bathroom put in.”

“Got it.It will probably take me a week or two to get the work done.I might do it at night if that’s ok with you.Otherwise, you’ll have to wait a while, my schedule is pretty booked.”Chopper stands and scratches his long beard.

“Night works fine,” Artie answers for me.“I made some spare keys so Dixie doesn’t have to worry about being here to let you in.”He hands over a key to Chopper.“Thank you for your help.My Jenni would love what you’re doing.”

“It’s my pleasure, Artie.”Chopper pats him on the back as he walks out into the main part of the restaurant where Jasper and Morris are standing.“Are you sure you two know what you’re doing?”Chopper raises a brow at the prospects.

“Yes.”Jasper rolls his eyes.“We worked in construction for years. We can handle ripping down some drywall and putting up fresh sheets.”

“The floors are easy as long as you know what you’re doing and we do,” Morris adds.

“Well, you better not screw it up or Storm will be down your throat.”Chopper smirks.Without another word, he exits the café and a moment later his bike engine roars to life.

“Why will I be down your throats?”Storm asks as he comes to stand next to me.

If I thought Storm was attractive in his cut, a beanie, and black jeans, I was wrong. When he’s working, he has his hair tied into a man bun that I shouldn’t find attractive, but I do.He wears a tight-fitting white t-shirt with blue jeans and sneakers. He says they’re easier to move around in than his boots. He looks so different from the bad boy biker I normally get to see.

“Nothing, man.Chopper’s just busting our balls.”Jasper waves off Storm’s concern.

“We can get this started tomorrow if you’d like.”Morris turns his attention to me.

“I’d love that!”
