“Keep going,” I hiss, gripping the edge of the dirty futon so I don’t move to beat the fuckhead to death.
“Or how rough they might be. They could f-fuck you to d-death and you would moan through it…” His words are a stuttered whisper as his scent of toilet water spikes with fear.
Hudson pulls Dexter’s phone out of his pocket, tossing it to Apollo. “Which number?”
“Un-untie me first,” Dexter tries to demand, so Hudson shrugs, pulls out a gun from his waistband, and aims it.
“First I’m going to smash all your fucking teeth in until you’re choking on them. Then I’m going to blow your dick off.” Hudson’s threat is acidic with hate but sounds like a purr to me as he crouches in front of Dexter and presses the barrel of the pistol to his crotch.
Dexter pisses himself.
“Under the name Daddy!” he squeals, and we all fucking gag.
“Oh fucking gross, you nasty little creep!” I feel like I need to scrub my body with a metal sponge.
Calling Scott Daddy?Foul.
“Bummer, I really wanted to blow your fucking kneecaps off next,” Hudson snarls, stepping back.
Beau and I sit silently as he attaches Dexter’s phone to his laptop that Thor went to retrieve for him.
Apollo hardly even breathes as he types, and after about fifteen minutes he shakes his head, scoffing. “I can’t believe it. That piece of shit was telling the truth.”
“You have the code?” I ask, hands trembling as Apollo looks up from the screen.
“Yes. I can disable it from here. We just need to be ready in case he has some kind of failsafe to reactivate it. Hudson. Thor. Can one of you remove it?”
“I can.” Hudson nods. Thor apparently comes prepared with a small medical kit in one of his many pockets and hands it over to Hudson.
Apollo makes quick work of accessing the system controlling the device, preparing to disable it.
I thread my fingers into the back of Beau's hair, angling his face so his worried eyes meet mine. So that he can see the dedication. The need. When his forehead rests against mine, I let out the breath I had been holding.
“Okay, I’m going to disable it on the count of three, then you need to work quickly, Hudson,” Apollo grunts as Thor kneels in front of Beau and me. The big guy puts both his large palms on Beau’s shoulders to help hold him still, while I take his hands. “Three. Two… One!”
We all tense up as Hudson makes a small incision on the back of Beau's neck. His flinch at the first slice of the small blade has me pouring comfort pheromones out into the space around us.
My sweet Beau doesn’t deserve this.
I’m not sure how long it takes Hudson to get the small chip out, but once it’s free, we all suck in a harsh breath. To think that small piece of metal had the ability to end the Omega who has come to mean so much to me. We spent so long terrified of this moment, but now, it’s all over.
Beau is free.
Once Hudson closes the small wound, the five of us hold each other, Beau and Apollo trembling from all the heavy emotions.
“You two ready to get rid of Dexter? Or should we stuff him in a box and bury it?” I ask as we release each other.
“Hayes will be here in ten minutes,” Thor says, crossing his arms over his chest. “They’ll have anything you want or need for him,” he adds with a nod toward Dexter. “To bury, or dismember.”
Oh, I like scary Thor… Or maybe I’ll call him Alpha Hawthorne when he gets all murdery.
“Scott will arrive ten minutes after them.” Apollo sighs, glancing between us.
“Oh fuck, what?” Beau’s eyes are wide, but Apollo pats his thigh.
“He can’t hurt you, Beau. He has nothing left to use against you. But Dexter contacted him the second he got word I was out in the SUV. He’s on his way, and I doubt he’s alone.” Apollo explains.
“I want Dexter dead.” Beau snaps, “I don’t want to leave this place until I know he’s dead. Then we can deal with my father.”
