“I’ll warn Hayes that Scott is on his way. You three do what you need to do.” Thor leans down, kissing my forehead, then Beau’s, and then Apollo’s.

“I’ll watch.” Hudson’s grin is feral. “Can’t believe you actually believed we would let you live,” Hudson scoffs. “We said we’d let you leave, but no one said you’d be breathing.”

“Wait! Wait! No!” Dexter’s screams are like music, as I imagine all the times he hurt my sweet Beau or my vicious Apollo.

“Where do you want him?” Hudson asks, grinning like we just agreed to a round of minigolf. “Futon?” He lifts Dexter by his throat and carries him over, sitting him down in the spot we just evacuated.

“Show him he has no power over you. Make him bleed for what he did to both of you,” I growl, a feral grin flashing my teeth.

“Together,” Apollo murmurs, pulling out a long dagger and handing it to Beau. I stand in front of Dexter while they walk up behind him. Beau presses the dagger to Dexter’s throat, and Apollo places his hand over Beau’s.

“Together,” Beau agrees, meeting my eyes with a serene smile.

They look so at peace as they drag the knife across Dexter's throat. I don’t take my eyes off them as Dexter’s heart stops beating.

“I think I love you,” I whisper, and Beau’s eyes snap to mine. His chocolate-strawberry scent gets heavy in the air, almost as if the Alpha’s death snapped a rubber band inside him.

Or maybe it was my words.

He drops against Apollo, leaning onto the Alpha for support. For a moment the four of us just stare at each other when Thor finally comes back into the room.

“Beau?” Thor grunts.

“Shit, his heat.” My eyes go wide as I look from one Alpha to the next. “What do we do?” I’m trying not to panic, because I know what Scott wants with Beau’s heat now, and just the thought of them being in the same city is almost enough to have me screaming. “Do we wait for Scott and then get him somewhere safe?”

“I’ll be okay. It’s okay,” Beau groans, but he can’t even stand up on his own, as his scent starts to get sweeter. Thicker. The Alphas grunt but keep their shit together, thank fuck.

“No, let's leave now.” Apollo shakes his head, scooping Beau up off his feet. “I don’t want Scott within a thousand miles of Beau. He’ll only fuck with Beau’s head—no. We need to get as far from here as possible.”

“Okay, let's go. I’ll call Hayes once we’re in the SUV.” Thor nods, leading the charge.

By the time we get to the bottom of the stairs, the Hayes Pack and their people are already here. We probably look pretty horrific at the moment, covered in blood like this, but they don’t even look twice at the gore. They do, however, freak out over Beau’s scent. The mated Alphas all cover their mouth and nose, cringing.

“Oh fuck, oh, ah, no! Make it stop!” Kodiak dramatically hollers when we reach them on the sidewalk.

“It’s his heat,” Thor explains, glancing nervously at Beau. “We have to go. Scott…” The big Alpha shakes his head.

“Go, we can handle Scott.” Declan nods in understanding. He’s professional, so he doesn’t make the ruckus that Kodiak does; however, he’s clearly uncomfortable.

“Once we have him, do you want him dead?” Easton asks, sticking his head out a car window, with Tatum tucked in beside him.

“Dead,” Beau and Apollo growl at the same time.

“Fantastic, we’ll send proof.” Easton nods, making a little finger wave before wrinkling his nose at our scents. “Oh, yikes…”

“Go,” Tatum says with a frown before reassuring us, “We won’t let him get away.”

Chapter Eighteen

DREAM

“Where are we going?” I ask, nibbling my bottom lip.

“My house. It’s safe and secure. No one else has access, and I’ve got everything you two will need for a perfect nest,” Hudson grunts as he leaps into the driver's seat. Thor rides shotgun, while Apollo and I get in the back with Beau, who rubs himself like a cat all over me.

“Do you have a shower?” I tease.

“I have everything, Dream. And if I don’t have something you need or want, just say the word, and it’s yours. All of you.” Hudson nods, pulling a phone out of one of his many pockets and handing it to Thor. “Can you call my dad and put it on speaker?”
