Kyren hummed, brushing my hair from my face. He shifted out from under me, placing a pillow beneath my head. Tate reappeared, wash cloth in hand.
“Let it be known that, if I hadn’t been wearing a condom, I wouldn’t even bother cleaning this up.” He stroked the cloth between my folds, moving gently when I winced. He pressed a kiss to my lower stomach and grinned up at me. “I’d stuff you full of my cum so everyone knew who you belonged to.”
His words would have been creepy to a regular human who didn’t know about vampires and werewolf. But, as someone in the know, it was sort of sweet. The letterman’s jacket of the supernatural in a very… intimate way.
The two of them crawled up next to me and drew the covers up around us.
This time, I fell asleep pressed between the two of them, I felt safe and wanted, and there was not a nightmare to be found.
Chapter twenty-eight
Jack
Akindofroutinebegan after that first night together. When we weren’t in class, we’d hang out in Kyren’s room — because it was bigger than ours — doing homework or watching this baking show where you have to guess if it’s food or not.
Tate was suspicious good at it and won every time.
“Do not bother betting against him, you will always lose,” Kyren told me after the first few episodes.
The fact that these two big scary supernaturals were obsessed with a bakery show would have tickled my mom pink. She always liked to tease my dads anytime one of them did something remotely ‘not vampire-like.’
My clothes and the majority of my stuff were still in our dorm room, but every night, I’d curl up between the two of them, enjoying my nightmare free existence.
Xinyi was beyond thrilled by our evolving dynamic.
“Oh my god,” she practically screeched, sitting down next to me at lunch. “I can’t believe you’re with both of them. You areliving what many women and men can only dream of. Seriously, I’ve heard them go on and on about how they’d love nothing more than to be squished between that hot man meat sandwich.”
“Xin,” Iris warned at her place next to her.
“Sorry, sorry.” Xinyi ducked her head in contrition for a brief moment before launching into another tirade, asking questions that made my face redder than the pasta sauce on her plate.
Thankfully, Tate and Kyren weren’t here yet, so they didn’t have to witness my complete and utter embarrassment. When we’d arrived, they had ushered me to have a seat while they went and retrieved us lunch. And, while I considered myself to be a strong independent woman who didn’t need no man to take care of her, it was sweet that they wanted to wait on me.
“We’re back.” Tate announced, sitting on one side of me while Kyren slid a tray in front of me and took the other space next to me.
That was another thing that was new. Kyren no longer hovered, watching from a distance with the other vampires. Whenever we were with each other, he always found a way to be next to me. If he wasn’t physically touching me, his shadows were, leaving me in a perpetual state of flustered.
One look down at the tray and I was flabbergasted. They had gotten exactly what I would have gotten myself, down to the green Jell-O, which no one in my family ever understood.
My eyes lifted to Kyren’s with a questioning look.
“I pay attention.” Kyren brushed his lips against my cheek.
Xinyi let out a squeal. “Oh my god, that’s soooo sweet. I didn’t know Kyren was that sweet, did you, Iris? I swear it’s always the quiet brooding ones that are the softest marshmallow on the inside.” Her next words came out muffled as Iris shoved a roll in Xinyi’s mouth.
“You two have Professor Jackass’ class next, right?” Tate asked before shoving a handful of fries in his mouth.
“Yeah.” My shoulders sagged.
Things with Julian did not end on a good note, and I dreaded seeing him in class today. Our relationship had always been strained since that fateful night, but ever since I’d started seeing Tate, things had become more and more intense.
Even though we weren’t together, I still felt guilty, which was ridiculous. Julian had made it clear that we weren’t and couldn’t be anything. He was my superior officer, and it wouldn’t be appropriate. Of course, that wasn’t what he said the night we got together. Then again, we were on an equal footing that night. It was the next day when he was promoted that everything went to shit.
Then there was the fact that he claimed he wasn’t jealous, only to say or do something that made him seem like the biggest hypocrite in the world. His hot and cold was giving me whiplash in the worst way.
I admitted I was a bit nervous to go to class today. Kyren still sat next to me and, with our new touchy-feely aspect, I had no doubt that Julian would notice and have something to say about it.
At least my mom hadn’t found out yet. She was the last person I wanted to hear from. She would never let me hear the end of it, hooking up with two guys at once.
