He needed more.

Rolling her underneath him, he used his knees to part her legs so he could settle his large body between them. Pleasure shot through him as he rubbed his thick cock against her slick pussy. Feeling her wet and ready for him made him ache to possess her. She moaned against his mouth as the bulbous head of his cock slid against her swollen clit, and he used the weight of his body to hold her in place when her hips began rocking against him.

His need for her bordered on madness, but he wouldn’t let her rush him. He wanted more than just to possess her body. He wanted to reclaim her soul. Tilting her head back, his mouth moved down to lick and suck along the graceful column of her neck. She shivered as he gently nipped at the delicate flesh with his teeth, then she wrapped her arms around his head as if begging for more.

She gasped as he sank his fangs into his mating mark at the base of her neck at the same time he thrust his cock deep inside her. Claiming her body and her blood was only the first step, and he pushed his magic into her to complete the exchange. Licking the wound on her neck closed, he shifted to claim her mouth with his again, sharing the taste of her essence with her in a primal declaration.

She was his, just as he belonged to her.

He began thrusting his cock inside of her, using slow, measured movements. She was so fucking hot and wet, and he savored the exquisite feeling of her tight muscles squeezing around his thick shaft. Shifting his hips, he made sure to rub against her sensitive clit with each deep, hard thrust. His large hands raced over her body, stroking every inch of smooth skin he could reach.

He reveled in their shared passion. The flames of desire sparked and sizzled between them with each thrust, growing hotter and brighter as he began to move faster. Unable to hold back, he started pounding himself into her, satisfying the primitive side of himself that he usually tried to contain.

Her own joy and pleasure drove him on. Her easy acceptance of him made him feel like the luckiest bastard in the six realms. They came together in a clash of passion, desperation, and urgent demand. But over and above it all, what brought them together was love.

Pure, untainted love between fated mates.

“Mine,”he snarled.“My mate.”

“And you are mine,”she asserted back.

She let out a wild cry as she came, her pussy clamping down on his cock in a grip so tight he could barely move. Her silvery blue gaze locked on his as she slapped her hand on his chest, and he groaned as he felt her magic flooding into him.

The erotic combination of sensations completely overwhelmed him. He let out a loud roar as his body exploded and he filled her with hard, hot pulses of his release. The climax was so intense that his vision blurred, and his entire body shuddered against the onslaught as white-hot pleasure shot through him, burning him alive.

Every time they came together, it was better than the last.

Theirs was a bond forged not just in passion but in destiny itself. It went beyond mere physical attraction ormutual understanding. They were two souls brought together by fate but bonded by love. Every experience they shared, every moment of intimacy, only served to strengthen the connection between them. Through every challenge, every hardship, and every triumph, they would remain united, bound together by a devotion that could never be undone.

Their hearts, souls, and destinies would forever be entwined, and nothing would ever come between them ever again.

Chapter Ten

“I’m so sorry! I can’t believe the necklace I gave you tried to murder you,” Jessica said between bouts of sobbing.

Starla wanted to comfort her friend but knew better than to try to pull away from Remy while he was in full-blown scenting mode. Since they had left the greenhouse, he had been glued to her side. His extreme protective attitude toward her made sense after what had just happened, though he didn’t need an excuse to remain next to her.

After they finished making love, they knew it was time to take care of the wind and rain tearing through the sublevel. Without the amulet, Starla was able to stop the storm and clear the sky of dark clouds using her magic. Fixing the rest of the damage would take a little more work.

In order to complete that task, they called in reinforcements. Briefly leaving the greenhouse, they waited for Anton, Kyler, Liam, Koa, Ava, Jessica, Lana, and Claudia to arrive. Once they were back inside the main greenhouse, they briefly explained what had happened before leading everyone down to the forest sublevel to help with the cleanup effort.

After hearing everything, Jessica was inconsolable with grief and guilt. Starla and Remy didn’t blame her for anything that had happened. No one knew the amulet had been cursed, including Damien and Professor Towers, two powerful and experienced supernaturals.

“Calm down. No one thinks you were trying to kill her,” Lana assured, rubbing Jessica’s shoulder as she continued to weep.

Anton nodded. “For real. I mean, if you were, it would be pretty stupid to use the gift you gave her.” When Koa shoved him, he said, “What? I said ‘if,’ not that she did it.”

“We should get you checked out by a healer,” Ava said, her worry clear. “What if whatever the amulet did to you caused some sort of permanent damage?”

Starla let out a squeak of protest when Remy’s arms tightened around her, and he lifted her off her feet.

“Fuck that, we are going to see a healer right now.”

“I’m fine. Put me down,” she ordered with a wheezing laugh. When he ignored her, she poked him in the chest to warn him that she meant business. “We can’t leave the trees like this, especially that one. It saved us, Remy. We owe it to them to heal them first.”

“You’re right.” He sighed as he set her feet back down on the ground, but he refused to release her. “Let’s get this done so we can find someone to examine you.”

They spread out and started to fix the damage done to the trees and other vegetation. They collected shattered limbs and gently set them aside in a pile, while others worked together to fix broken branches. A few members of the group gathered fallen leaves and cleared away debris, making sure not to disturb any of the delicate roots exposed by the storm.
