Titus,

At least eighty.

Mariah

Mariah,

Eighty? That number seems a little off considering my mother isn’t even seventy. Also, if I’m eighty, that would make Walker eighty-two. I know he looks good for his age, but not that good.

Titus

Titus,

This Walker you speak of… is that the same Walker your mother mentioned lives in the next house over? Maybe I should go meet him and see if my estimate is accurate. It would probably be neighborly to take him a caramel cake.

Mariah

Mariah,

If you bake Walker a caramel cake I’ll be forced to hack into his house’s security system and lock him out so he can’t eat any of it. I’d hate to leave him shivering in the cold, but I’m not above it. Especially when cake is concerned.

Titus

P.S. Walker is also very boring. It will be a disappointingadventure.

Titus,

I find it interesting that you consider Walker boring considering I haven’t found you to be the height of excitement. Are you doing something fantastically interesting up there I don’t know about? Because it sounds a whole lot like nothing’s going on.

Mariah

Mariah,

You can’t hear anything because my rooms are essentially safe rooms. Tucker—another of my very boring brothers—designs and builds them. I have access to very sensitive information, so we decided it was best to ensure I was able to lock it down if I needed to.

But to answer your question, yes. Very fantastically interesting things happen up here all the time. Unfortunately, none of them seem to involve caramelcake.

Titus

Titus,

Caramel cake can be available whenever you’d like. All you have to do is come get it. Actually, I think I’ll make one now. I’d hate for it to go to waste if you don’t come down, so if I don’t see you, I’ll plan on making a trip to visit the very boring Walker tomorrow.

Mariah

Mariah,

I’ll think about it.

Mariah

“Think about it my ass.”

I keep the caramel cake—that is clearly way less tempting than I thought—balanced on one hand as I stomp my way across the frozen ground. I probably should have driven here, but I need to work off a little aggravation, and physical exertion seems the easiest way to accomplish that.
