Axel nodded before visibly concentrating.
The big man’s aura pulsed, nearly blinding Atlas. The gold, green, and silver not only glimmered but throbbed. Not like flickers but almost a wave. Maybe being able to see auras wasn’t a fix all after all. Atlas found it hard to look at Axel for long.
“There.” Axel pointed to a wall behind them.
Atlas relaxed. It wasn’t like Bel would go far. This party was for them but the further along in the pregnancy that Bel got, the more outlandish things Atlas’s mate got up to. Of course, if Bel was up to something, he could close and move walls. “Thanks, guys.”
Bryce patted his shoulder. “No problem. Just let us know if you need anything else. And I know we have a big family so if we need to go—”
Atlas shook his head. “Please don’t go yet. I really want to get to know you better. I’d love for us to become friends.”
“Me too,” Bryce said with a huge smile.
He really was a cutie.
“You can never have too many friends,” Bryce said. “Or family. Ours keeps growing and it makes me so happy.”
Atlas nodded, thinking about his own growing family.
“Go find your mate,” Bryce told him.
“Thanks,” Atlas said sincerely.
“We’ll run interference if anyone comes in this direction,” Axel informed him. “He’s alone, from what I can tell.”
“Appreciate it.” Atlas approached the wall and it opened for him. At least Bel hadn’t blocked him from the room.
Stepping inside the room, Atlas entered the nursery.
Bel sat on the floor in the middle of the room with a pink box nearly full of cupcakes in front of him.
The wall closed behind Atlas as he stood watching his mate.
Bel was bent over the box of cupcakes, carefully unpeeling the paper off one. Three empty wrappers were balled up beside him.
“Mate,” Atlas said softly. “You’re going to make yourself sick.”
Bel’s head snapped up with half a cupcake in his mouth. “Mmfph.”
Shaking his head, Atlas approached slowly. Bel was still the sweetest mate ever, but when it came to food, the gluttony gene was growing stronger. Lucifer had promised to keep an eye onBel for him and Atlas was going to hold their friend to that. Atlas crouched beside his mate. “What was that?”
Bel swallowed before sheepishly setting the rest of the cupcake down.
Atlas rubbed Bel’s lower back. His mate still had another thirty days before he should be giving birth. One more month to go. Bel was just a sexy as the day that they’d met, actually more so, since he was carrying their offspring. Atlas found it incredibly erotic that Bel was giving him a child.
Breeding kink? Check! And Atlas still loved to fill Bel up with his come.
Leaning closer, he kissed up Bel’s neck.
It didn’t matter that they had a house full of guests. Atlas would always want his mate.
Bel tilted his head, giving Atlas better access to the mate mark on his shoulder. Atlas nibbled on that sensitive spot even as Bel’s hand twitched toward the half-eaten cupcake.
“Really?” Atlas asked, teasing.
Bel grunted. “I want you to keep kissing me but I kind of want to eat the cupcake at the same time.”
“I have a better idea,” Atlas suggested. “Lie back.”
