“Do you think they’d mind?” Bel inquired. Since Tristan worked directly under Mammon, it would be up to his friend if Bel could borrow the other demon.
“Track down a murdering pack?” Mammon’s laugh was wicked. Sent a chill up Bel’s spine. “They’ll be happy to go.”
“Thanks.” That was one worry off Bel’s plate.
“Seb and Ari could probably help with finding your mate’s family,” Asmos pointed out.
“I’m taking him over there this afternoon.”
Asmos perked up.
“You want to come with us,” Bel said, knowing that Asmos would insist on it.
“Who better to welcome your mate to our amazing world?” Asmos pressed his palms together, pleading.
“You just want to watch Atom’s warriors train,” Bel accused. Atom had moved the training center for the demon warriors next to Ari’s building to keep close to his mate. Not that Bel could blame Atom. Bel had literally hired his mate as an assistant to keep him close.
Asmos cackled.
“After lunch,” Bel stressed. He wanted to make sure he could properly warn Atlas about Asmos and some of the other demons that he would come into contact with. Not that Atlas was in any danger. More that Bel didn’t want Atlas running away screaming, surrounded by the chaos that those certain demons could and would cause.
“Yes!” Asmos pumped his fist. “I can’t wait to meet your mate.”
“Mate?”
Bel snapped his head toward the wall across the office where Atlas stood freshly showered and dressed in jeans and a hoodie. His mate was beautiful. Hair neatly styled, eyes bright, cheeks with a pink hue, and he glared at Bel.
“Mate?” Atlas repeated.
“Oh shit,” Mammon muttered before disappearing.
“Uh,” Bel stammered.
“Hi!” Asmos bounced up from the chair.
Damn! Bel slowly rose. He ignored Asmos who practically danced in front of the desk.
Atlas hadn’t taken his narrowed eyes off Bel.
“I can explain,” Bel offered, holding up his hands.
Mammon appeared back in the office and grabbed Asmos. Then the two demons were gone for good as Atlas stomped forward.
Bel locked his knees to keep from retreating. He never backed up for anyone. Except his mate did not look happy at all.
Atlas was nearly vibrating. “I knew it!” He slammed his palm on the top of the desk.
“Uh,” Bel said again.
“Sit!” Atlas ordered while pointing to the chair that Bel had just vacated. “Now.”
Bel sat.
“You have some explaining to do,” Atlas said.
Hadn’t he said that once already to Bel? Oh well, Atlas demanding answers couldn’t be helped. There was so much that the human didn’t know. And he wasn’t a fool. Bel knew he had to tell Atlas everything. It was just the way mates should be witheach other. Even if Atlas needed time to adjust or even think Bel would give him all the time in the world.
They had eternity after all.
