I nod, get up off my couch, and head toward my keys. "Come on."
Pierre and Felix follow.
"Thanks, man, for doing this," Felix states.
I shrug as if it's no big deal as we head toward the apartment, which is at the opposite end. It's on the corner just like mine. You have the entire end of the building. "It's a four-bedroom, four-bathroom apartment. There's a twenty-four-hour doorman as well as security. On the third level is an entire wellness center. Pool, spa, saunas, gym, and cold plunges. All the good stuff. During the summer, it's nice to hang out on the rooftop where they have a lounge with grills beside the outdoor pool. In winter, the fire pits are nice. It has great views of the fireworks for NewYear's from it too," I explain. "Level four has the entertainment section. Movie theatre, golf simulator. I may have requested for it to also be a hockey simulator for training over the summer." I smirk. "There's also a games room on that level. Billiards. Basketball court. And then level five is co-working spaces and meeting rooms. There are a lot of people who work remotely in the building, so it's busy.
"Oh, also. Level two has the in-house café, restaurant, and bar. You can order in-house, and it will be delivered. There is also a self-service mini mart for anything you've forgotten that you couldn't be bothered to head to the shops for. You tap your credit card to walk in. Grab what you need, and it registers it. Then walk out. It works well when you can't be bothered to go outside. Or you know, the media is hounding you."
"That sounds amazing." Pierre chuckles.
"Look, you pay for the convenience in the fees. But to be fair, the amenities in this building are top-notch, so ..."
"Sounds like you never have to leave the building," Felix adds.
"You don't. Which I like."
"Same." Pierre nods.
I show them the apartment, and I can see how much they like it. It's a great apartment. I love my place.
"This is huge for New York," Pierre states.
"Yeah. I like the openness of the apartment."
"The views are great, too, and there's so much light," Felix adds.
"Does your friend seriously want to sell this? It's amazing," Pierre adds.
"Yeah. Dougie is happy in Colorado and wants to build his family’s dream cabin there. So, he has no need for it."
Pierre nods. "If he's up for it, I'd love to make an offer. I'm happy to rent it off him until we can settle."
Wow. Just like that.
"I'll send him a message and see if we can sort something out. I think he'll be happy to get the place off his hands."
Pierre smiles. "One more thing. Don't worry, Cap. Felix and I will not cramp your space. We understand what it's like to come home from training. You just want your space, especially from the team."
"Appreciate that." I nod in response.
"Glad that's settled. Let's head back and celebrate," Felix says.
We head back to my apartment, where all the guys are.
"How'd it go?" Sully asks.
"Love it. Fingers crossed, we can arrange something with Dougie," Pierre tells him.
"Dougie will come through. Don't you worry," Sully reassures him.
"This is cause for celebration. The St. Pierre brothers finally have some good news," Evan calls out.
I internally groan.
"Hell, yeah, we do," Pierre says as one of the guys hands them both a beer. "Thanks, guys, for this tonight. I fucking needed it." Pierre sighs as he takes a seat.
"Things will get better. Something else will happen, and the media will move on," Bouch tells him.
