"Fucking hope so," Pierre adds.
"They have with me," Felix adds.
"Yeah, but only because of the drama with Harper," Pierre says, rolling his eyes.
"What drama?" Fish asks.
"I kind of punched her ex in the face, and he's kicking up a stink in the media. But I was sticking up for my woman. The guy is a fucking slimeball," Felix explains.
The boys all nod. Pretty sure we'd all do the same for our women. If we had any.
"It's how we found out that he was dating her. When his face was splashed across the news," Pierre says, sounding a bit angry about it.
"He isn't a fan of Harper's. Even though she is the one that fucking got him out of Italy in the middle of the night on her jet," Felix says, eyeballing his brother. "All because she called his ass out when they were kids."
"She destroyed my relationship with Issy," Pierre argues back.
"Her walking in on you fucking a puck bunny ruined it," Felix bites back.
The room falls silent.
"It was fucking college. I was a dumbass. You can't tell me none of you guys did anything like that when you were younger?" Pierre asks the room.
Mumbles of yes and no fill the room.
"Issy wasn't just anyone," Felix argues back.
"No shit," Pierre says, fiddling with his beer.
Guess there's a story there.
"Look, puck bunnies will always get you into trouble. You've got to be strong," Fish states like he's an authority on the matter.
"I learned my lesson. Issy never spoke to me again for fifteen years. She moved to London and ghosted me," Pierre explains sadly.
"Damn, man, that's rough," Fish says, tipping his beer in his direction.
"I messed up. I didn't realize what I had until it was gone," Pierre says.
"Sounds like you still have feelings for her?" Evan asks.
"He never got over her." Felix smirks, spilling his brother's secrets.
"Guess it's lucky you didn't get married," Nelly adds, which earns him a couple of groans from the guys.
"Yeah, I am. But I don't think a second chance is on the cards for Issy and me," he says sadly.
"Well, at least everything else in your life is taking a turn for the better," Sully adds.
"Ignore him. He's a positive motherfucker," Evan teases.
We drink, talk, and laugh.
The tension from earlier dissolves, and Pierre and Felix relax. Really relax. By the end of the night, they're not just new teammates. They're part of the family.
