“Nah, this our week. Come home.” The grimace on Light Bright’s face allowed me to see the diamond grill he was sporting.
“Alright, Gee.” Daelight discreetly rolled her eyes. “I’ll be home.”
I guess Light Bright didn’t like the attitude in her voice because he gripped her chin tightly between his fingers, forcing her head to turn in his direction.
“Don’t play with me,” he said menacingly, giving her a hard look then kissing her on the lips before letting her go and being on his way.
“I wish I never met that nigga. I swear,” Daelight said angrily once she was sure Gee was gone.
“But you ain’t gon’ leave him either.” Frankee called Daelight out.
“I really don’t have much of a reason.” Daelight quickly changed her tune, and Frankee looked at her crazily.
“That fact that he has three other bitches,” Frankee responded, not letting up.
“And I knew that when we first got together. He takes care o-”
Frankee cut off Daelight. “But you aren’t happy. You used to light up whenever that nigga came in the room. Now, you never smile when you’re around him. Be forreal, it was fun at first, but now shit’s real.”
Throwing her head back, Delight took a deep breath closing her eyes, using her finger to swipe away tears. “I know,Frankee. I know. Today can we not? I just wanna enjoy myself,” Daelight replied with watery eyes.
“I’ma shut up, and we’re gonna have a fun day.” Frankee wrapped her arm around Daelight giving her a hug. “I would ask if you're gonna chill with us, but I already know the answer to that.” Frankee side eyed me.
“Why?” I was confused.
“ ‘Cause as soon as you get around Faheem, you ain’t gon’ leave his side.”
“Be forreal, his bitch is here. I’ma say hi to the nigga, but that’s it.”
“She’s still in denial, her ass is gone over my brother.” Frankee looked over at Daelight.
“Don’t listen to her,” I said, fake pushing Frankee while looking at Daelight. “Faheem don’t run shit over here. I got a few niggas on my roster,” I said, dancing in my seat, taking a big gulp of my drink. The alcohol was starting to get in my system.
“Then you coming out with us if we go to the club tonight?” Frankee asked with a face that said she didn’t believe me.
“And will. I’m forreal. With Faheem, we good, but I’m not putting all my eggs in one basket while he spreading his oats.”
“It sounds good.” Frankee smirked at me.
“It is good. I’m not about to sit back and let that nigga play in my face. He better hope I come home tonight. I might get some new dick as a birthday gift to me.” I smacked my lips talking my shit.
The more I thought about it, the less I wanted to bother Faheem. Why was I wasting my time and energy on them? I knew what I was getting into when I first started dealing with Faheem. It was my own fault for thinking time would change anything. Yeah, he could kiss my ass.
“Pop yo shit then.” Frankee giggled, hi-fiving me. “Even though you not about that life, it sounds good.”
“Baby, I might be. As many times as I’ve had to listent to them fucking, I deserve some get back. I might have to send him a video of a nigga munching on my cat.” I laughed, hard, because I knew I was talking shit. But the lack of laughter from Frankee alarmed me as she looked beyond me with wide eyes.
“Do it.” That simple phrase sobered me up real quick. The voice behind it had me ready to run and hide.
I fucked up.
Peeking over my shoulder, I could see Faheem’s outline. He had his back to the bar. Slightly leaning back against the bar, his body faced the party with his head tilted to the side in my direction.
“Ayyeee, it’s the birthday Maaaannnn!” Frankee yelled out tryna distract Faheem’s fury.
“You must wanna be a cheerleader now,” Faheem said while frowning at Frankee, not paying her birthday cheers any attention. “You just cheering all kinds of bullshit on, huh?”
Smacking her lips, Frankee giggled, unbothered by Faheem’s hostility. “See what I mean. This nigga coming over here ready to wreck shit when Juniper is envolved.”
