“You still have a job, and if you didn’t, I’m yo husband now. It’s up to me to take care of you, right?”

Juniper and I ended up getting married on Monday. It was only my parents and us at the court house. Juniper’s mean ass frowned the entire time. Even the judge asked her if she was okay. I got her a little ten-karat wedding ring. Not nothing I would ever put on my real wife’s finger, but it was a little something to make shit seem realer than it actually was. We’d been staying at my house in Boowell county. I figured if I gave Mixie and Juniper a few days to cool off from their littleexchange before they lived under the same roof. A nigga wasn’t tryna break up fights everyday.

Juniper was in her feelings the first day after we got married, but she eventually calmed her ass down. We kicked it the few days we’d stayed at my house on the compound. Shit was cool while we stayed there. She was nice because I let her have access to the entire house. Juniper wasn’t as tough as she acted. Her ass was a big baby, forreal. We watched one scary movie, and her ass wanted to be up under a nigga that entire night. She wasn’t giving up no pussy though. Juniper made sure she kept shit at arm’s length. Wasn’t no free feels or playing in that juicy pussy again. She could run from me for now. I’d let shit get settled before I fucked her world up. That forty-five minute drive got old fast as fuck.

All the shit I had to do on a day-to-day on top of hearing Mixie complain when I stayed out here in Boowell. It was a wrap, and I told Juniper we were going back to my condo in the city. Ever since then, her nasty ass attitude had been back in effect. I don’t know what the fuck for ‘cause she knew the day was coming sooner than later.

Scoffing at me while rolling her eyes up into her big ass head, she pushed her suitcase on the ground. The loud ass thud the suitcase made sounded like it put a hole in her floor.

“I doubt I have a job. My bosses don’t play about no call, no shows.”

“Are you doubting your husband now?” A sneaky grin formed on my face as I picked with her.

“I don’t have aREALhusband.”

“Good thing I’m a dope ass fake husband. I talked to your boss and let them know you’ve been sick. They said you good. When you start feeling better, call them, and you’ll be put back on the schedule.”

What I didn’t tell Juniper was Big Frank and I knew the niggas that ran the doctors’ office she worked in. Back in the day, Big Frank gave Angelo and his other brother, Angel, the loan to start their practice. That’s why I went to that office. They never charged me for shit. One call telling them to keep Juniper was all it took.

“Bullshit.”

“Call them. I don’t got shit to lie about.” I handed her phone back to her. “Ion care about you workin’, just don’t get any bright ideas.” I watched Juniper tap on her phone before placing it to her ear.

Turning her back to me as she spoke into her cell phone. “Hey, may I speak with Angelo?” I saw her turning her head trying to peek over her shoulder. “Uhh… hi, this Juniper. I was calling to see if I could be put back on the schedule next week?” She turned back around, looking at me with wide eyes. “I can? Really? Ooh, okay.” I smirked at her, in return she scoffed frowning back at me. “My husband.” Juniper made a face like that word tasted like shit in her mouth. “He’s been a blessing. Okay. Text me the schedule when it’s ready.” Hanging the phone up, Juniper squinted her eyes at me. “I don’t know what you did but… thank you. Being able to work means a lot to me.” Her demeanor softened, and she gave me a genuine smile.

“Is this a truce?” I raised my eyebrow in question.

“If that’s what you wanna call it.” She made a face at me, that said she didn’t fuck with me. “I’ll still beat your girl's ass if she keeps running her dick suckers.”

“She cool. I mean, how would you feel if yo’ nigga married another broad outta the blue? Take it easy on her.” Facts were facts, and most females weren’t built solid like Mixie. She was one of a kind. I got a lot of people didn’t understand her for the shit she’d did, but I fucked with her the long way for her loyalty to me.

“He wouldn’t be my nigga no more. The fuck I look like sticking with a nigga that married another female while we’re together?”

“Man, what?” I gave her thebullshitexpression. “Not even in your situation? You ain’t that heartless.”

“Nigga, I would have told you to figure some other shit out. Not to mention you move that same female into our space? Fuck no! I would kill a nigga before I ever let him play in my face like that. Let’s be real, do you think your mom would have let your dad marry another female? I dare you to lie. Mrs. Toi may come off as sweet, but I see past all that. She’s with the shits forreal.” Juniper tilted her head to the side.

Fuck no, Toi wasn’t going for Big Frank being with another bitch. The one time my daddy got caught cheating–before me or Frankee were born–my mama fucked him up. Literally, she poured hot water on him while he was sleeping then beat him with a belt. Daddy knew better than to fuck with Mama.

“That ain’t the same,” I deflected, not wanting to give Juniper the satisfaction of being right.

“I bet it ain’t ‘cause Mrs. Toi ain’t a dizzy bitch like the one you fucking.”

“What’s all this hostility for? What Mixie do to you?”

“No hostility, just speaking facts.” Juniper pressed her lips together.

“Sounds like a hater to me.” I just wanted to push her buttons. I liked seeing her worked up.

“Boy, bye.” She waved me off. “Mixie doesn’t have shit I want. Can we get this shit over with?”

“She got me.” I winked at her.

“You? Pssst… Nigga, you for the streets. Anybody can have you. I basically got you the way you following me around tryna get some pussy.” Juniper patted the top of her pussy, drawing my attention to my new best friend.

Licking my lips, I couldn’t wait until I got her. I was gonna take time in that pussy, and I prayed that it was as good as I hoped it was.

“See,” Juniper said, popping me upside the head. “Bring yo’ nasty ass on and grab my suitcase,” she said, walking around me and out of the room door.
