“Or the fact that he knows where our hunter house is,” Hunter Ji-woon came into view. “And he's gotten a good look at us. He was probably spying for a while before he let himself be seen. So we can assume he knows what we are.”

“He already knew our weakness,” Mi-cha said. “He either watched us, then returned after creating that spray. Or—”

“He followed us back from Songwol-dong,” Sever cut her off. “He was watching all of us!” He shifted his stare to me. “He knows about Angels and Demons too. And our children.”

“Okay calm down,” I said. “He's just one man. A very smart man with some elemental magic, but still a man. We've dealt with worse.”

“What time is it there?” Killian asked the hunters.

“Six in the morning,” Mi-cha said. “I'm an early bird.”

Kill chuckled.

Sever and I looked at him.

“It's funny because she's a bird-shifter,” Kill said as if it was obvious. He looked at the hunter to ask, “You meant it to be funny, didn't you?”

“Yes, Ambassador.” Mi-cha grinned. “I need some levity today.”

“I need it every day.” Kill widened his eyes at her. “I have to deal with these guys.”

Hunter Mi-cha held up a hand to block her mouth and giggled.

“Leave the levity for later,” Sever said. “You need to get back to Korea. And wear a fucking mask.”

“Baby, we're not affected by iron,” I said.

“But the others are,” Killian added with a grim look toward the door. “I think they need to stay behind.”

“And I need to go,” Sever declared.

Chapter Twenty-Four

Tiernan, Daxon, and Raza did not agree with our switching plans. They argued with us until Sever reminded them of their responsibilities as kings. The risk was simply too great.

Raza roared at that.

Finally, they relented and even agreed to stay in Twilight to take care of the children together. They were not pleased, but they had to admit that the risk had not increased for me or Killian, and they wanted Sever with us for extra muscle. He may not be King of Heaven anymore, but he was still the strongest Angel in existence.

Until our daughter surpassed him. Maybe. We'll see.

With that decided, Killian, Sever, and I made our goodbyes to the rest of the family, and I laruked Killian and our guards to Korea. Honestly, it was nice to be down to two guards. Since we had gone to the hunter house before laruking to Twilight the night before, Sever knew where to go and could travel on his own.

Star was waiting for us.

When I saw him and the way he looked at me for a brief moment before he shut down his expression, I was relieved my other husbands weren't there. Out of the five of them, Killianand Sever dealt with Star the best. Raza might have attacked the King of Hell if he'd seen that look, despite our conversation about them being the winners in the Seren game.

I grimaced at that. I hated the thought of being a prize. But it wasn't true, just a way to get them to see things differently. So, I didn't let it truly bother me. I was more annoyed that this was still a thing. We had argued about Star so much that it was getting boring. And then there was my guilt. I couldn't tell them about the kiss—the real kiss—and that was eating at me. I'd never been dishonest with my husbands before. Not like this. It felt so wrong. It also made their arguments feel valid. They were right to worry. To be furious with Star. I should be furious with him. If only.

“What held you?” Star asked.

“What?” I whispered, the question baffling me. Was he asking something intimate?

“What held you up?” Star tried again. “Why are you so late? They told me they scried you before they scried me.”

“Oh.” I blinked. “The hunters scried you?”

“We thought you'd want him to know since he's part of the team. And King Astaroth told us that we could contact him on his letaq via our crystal ball,” Hunter Yun-hee said as she came into the living room. “Were we wrong to scry him?”
