“He might look like a boy, but he’s a grown man.” I got a bad case of the warm and fuzzies listening to Daddy defend me and us. “And for your information, this isn’t something new. We met last summer, and I never forgot about him after that first time. I’ve been fucked in the head ever since then, trying to figure out what that meant. When he came back, I knew there was something special there, and I would have done whatever it took to get him to see that I wasn’t just looking to get my dick wet.”

“No need to go into details.” It was hard to not laugh at the mortification in Stephen’s voice. “And in a strange way, that does help. I still don’t get how you can suddenly decide you’re queer and start screwing someone half your age—”

“He’s not that young,” Daddy ground out. “Yes, he looks young, but he’s twenty-five.”

“Great, so it’s only a seventeen-year age difference,” Stephen quipped. “So, he’s not quite young enough for you to be his father.”

“I don’t see what difference that makes. He loves me the way I am, and I feel like the luckiest man in the world because he could do so much better, and yet he’s here with me.”

He was so wrong about that. I’d been with plenty of guys, and none of them held a candle to him. He was sweet and considerate. He loved spoiling me, even though I told him I didn’t need to be showered with gifts. And most of all, he encouraged me to let all my facets sparkle, not just the ones he approved of.

He thought he was the lucky one, but I figured we both were. Daddy shifted under me, and I whimpered. My ass was still tender from everything we’d put it through last night. I didn’t necessarily regret it, but I wasn’t in any hurry to try it again. Well, not certain parts… I wouldn’t be opposed to Daddy taking his boy to Doctor B again sometime. After all, it was Daddy’s job to make sure I was healthy.

“Hey faker, it’s time to head inside.” Daddy kissed the side of my head. “Once you’re in the bath, I’ll run back to the trailer to get you a change of clothes.”

“It’s nice out here, Daddy,” I said sleepily. While a confrontation was never the best way to start the day, I could get used to morning coffee while sitting at the edge of the woods. The scent of smoke lingered in the air from the bonfire that had gone out in the early hours of the morning, and I could hear the birds singing from their perches in the trees. It was beautiful. “If you didn’t have that stupid trailer, we could stay out here more often.”

I wasn’t trying to sound like a diva, but I wasn’t a fan of a home that rocked when the wind blew too hard or if both of us were walking around. And even as skinny as I was, it was impossible for us to pass one another in the kitchen area.

We needed more space. It was too soon to talk about living together, but we needed a place that was also all ours.

“Yeah? Even if it meant being closer to my brother and his friends?” he asked as he stood with me still in his arms. I felt ridiculous having him carry me across the yard, but it was sweet. I didn’t have any shoes, and the path from the fire pit to the house was filled with rocks.

“They don’t scare me,” I scoffed. “Like you told your brother, I’m tough as nails. I won’t put up with any of their shit. But that means you can’t let it get to you, either. Your brother seems open to accepting us, and I’d bet the rest of them will follow his lead.”

“How in the hell did you get so damn smart?”

Stephen held open the door, smiling as we passed him. He was still a dick, but maybe not as much of one as I’d originally thought.

“I’m the same as I’ve always been, but you make it okay for me to let my guard down.” I cupped his face in my hands when he set me on the floor at the bottom of the stairs. He didn’t resist when I pulled him down for a kiss. “I love you, Daddy. And I hope you’re okay with me not planning on changing that, like, ever.”

“You’d better not because I’m pretty sure I’m good until forever.”

After bath time,I was ready to go back to sleep until it was time to get up for work. I’d expected a tiny, somewhat funky, bathtub with mildewed grout in Stephen’s bath. It was a pleasant surprise to find a huge soaking tub in the open space. I’d soaked until the water went cold, then called for John, who’d not only forgotten to bring my clothes in, but also hadn’t left me a towel.

I think he planned it that way; he hadwaytoo much fun drying me off and helping me get dressed. I did, too, but I was so wrung out from last night, my dick didn’t even get hard. That was okay though, because with Daddy, it wasn’t all about the sex and orgasms.

He didn’t take me back downstairs as I’d expected. Instead, he led me into a dark room at the end of the hall. When he flicked on the light, it felt like I’d walked onto a TV set for one of the MC dramas that were popular until a few years ago. There was a long table with chairs lined down both sides and one at the head. The wall behind the head of the table was painted with the same symbol I’d seen on the back of the vests last night.

“We aren’t going to get in trouble for being in here, are we?” A chill ran up my spine, wondering what typically went on in here. The shows had made it seem like most clubs ran either drugs or guns, but Stephen didn’t strike me as stupid enough to do shit like that out of his house.

“No, I asked Stephen where you could have some privacy to make your phone call,” he explained, pulling out the chair nearest to us. “It was either this or his bedroom, and that’s likely to be a biohazard.”

I shuddered. The rest of the house was immaculate, but I supposed that made sense if he had people in and out all the time. Given how late people partied every time I was out here, he probably threw his clothes wherever they landed before falling into bed.

“Do I really have to call him right now?” I whined. Tanner was going to give me an earful for worrying him. He’d called a few times, but always when I was at work or spending time with John. I kept telling myself I’d call him back, but by the time I was free, it was too late to risk waking him.

When I moved out, he put in notice on our apartment and moved in with his grandma. He said it was temporary because he wanted to follow me out here. I wasn’t foolish enough to think it was following me so much as being with Ryan, but it was still nice to hear.

“Yes, you do. Nothing’s going to get better if you avoid him,” Daddy lectured me. “You need to own up to what you did wrong. If you two are close enough Ryan was willing to hunt you down at the club, I’m pretty sure he’ll forgive you.”

“You obviously don’t know Tanner,” I scoffed. “No one holds a grudge like him. He would probably be married to Ryan, with a house full of kids they adopted, if he’d gotten his head out of his ass sooner.”

“This isn’t about him.” He handed my phone over. “Call him. Stephen’s going to make lunch so we can hang out here until it’s time to head to work. Do you want to come out here again tonight or go to your place?”

My placedidn’t exist. I had a spare room at Sam’s, but that was it. Now that I had a job, maybe it was time to get a small place of my own. The trailer wasn’t much, but at least when we were here, we weren’t inconveniencing anyone, and we didn’t have to worry about how much noise we made.
