My stress level inched upwards. I wasn’t good at lying, I was good at fibbing, and that didn’t feel like enough when faced with cameras. I was going to blow it.

“Give me the origin story,” Dorian coached. “But make it funny. Really play up the highs and lows. Drew, you start, and then you jump in for more comic relief, Emilia.”

Me, comedic? I was definitely going to blow it. I took in a deep breath and let it out as Drew launched into the true fake story of the beginning of our love affair, which was starting to feeltruetrue. I interjected when he got a little too worked up about how annoying the dogs were, and before long everyone was laughing and I was feeling hopeful again.

“How often do the two of you work together?” Dorian asked.

We locked eyes.

“Not enough,” Drew said softly. “I get called away to deal with other aspects of the resort—and of course, this is hardly the only resort in our portfolio, and I’m responsible for all of them—so I’m not a part of events here in Carmel that much. Although when we do work together she makes it really hard to focus. Let’s just say that I have a hard time staying away from my lovely fiancée,” Drew said. He grabbed my hand again and squeezed it, which was more for me than the viewers at home. “Our chemistry is almost a problem.”

“More,” Dorian demanded. “Emilia, come on. Talk about it. Don’t let him steal the spotlight. Do you agree that your attraction to each other is an issue?”

Drew caught my eye. “It’s okay,” he said softly.

“I wouldn’t call it aproblem,” I began slowly, staring down at our clutched hands. “It’s occasionally hard to navigate, because I want to be touching him at all times, and that’s not professional.”

Which was a new sensation, and one hundred percent true.

“Have you ever gotten caught being a little too intimate with each other at the resort?” Dorian asked.

“We have. Never by our clients or guests at the resort, though,” I added quickly. “Staff has walked in on us, uh, having a moment.”

“Oh, come on, Em,” Drew cajoled playfully. “Can I tell the whole story of what just happened?”

I nodded, thankful that he was taking the lead on this interview, and hoped he wasn’t going to make us looktooinsatiable.

“So we snuck off to meet in a supply closet,” he paused to wink at the camera. “And I’m dying for it you know? She’s teasing me, looking up at me with those big, beautiful eyes, and I’m ready to explode.”

As Drew talked, it occurred to me that he was—subtly, discreetly—describing the actual scene of the last time I gave him a blow job. Just thinking about it made me flush, especially when he went on to describe how gorgeous I looked, how amazing I made him feel.

Yeah, he was playing it up a little for the cameras, but the way he kept looking over at me, catching my eye, made it all feel soreal.Like he truly saw me that way—as some sort of sexual goddess instead of the woman who melted into the background. As if he really sawmewhen he looked my way—and as if that sight alone was enough to turn him on.

“Em isinchesaway from me, and all of a sudden the door slams open and in walks our lead housekeeper, Maritza. That woman seeseverything. No speck of dust goes unnoticed. Well, we froze, and for some reason Maritza was so busy scanning the shelves that she didn’t even turn her head to check out the rest of the closet.”

“Whoa, I like this!” Dorian exclaimed. “Is Maritza hot? Could it have been a little threesome?”

Drew and I chuckled in unison.

“Maritza has been with the resort for twenty five years. She’s happily married with three grandchildren,” Drew said.

“Got it,” Dorian said. “Anyway, keep going.”

“Well, we lucked out—she didn’t notice a thing. But yeah, that was probably our closest call. So far, anyway.”

“So even after almost getting caught, you still sneak off for your ‘private meetings’ at work?”

Drew chuckled. “Can anyone really expect me to keep my hand to myself when I’m engaged to the most tempting woman on earth? Besides, I have to admit that the taboo aspect of getting caught is more fun than I ever anticipated.”

I was blushing so hard that I was convinced that I was now about to burst into flames in front of everyone. But…good flames? The joyous flames of a boosted ego and an ignited libido. It was one hell of a turn-on being wanted the way Drew wanted me… even if I’d rather not have this moment in front of a bunch of cameras.

“How would you describe your chemistry in three words?” Dorian asked.

“I’ll go,” I said quickly, because I didn’t want to have to collect myself enough to talkafterwhatever Drew chose to say. “I’d say our chemistry is overwhelming, intense, and … rare.”

“Rare?” Dorian asked. “Explain.”

“I think that it’s easy to find basic sexual attraction, but what’s rare is partnering with someone who fulfillsallof your needs, not just the sexy ones.” I smiled at Drew. “I know how lucky I am.”
