“I can’t, I—” I pushed away from him, my blood chilling as the sweat turned cold, and I stumbled away from him, right into something solid and warm.
Strong arms held me still, the touch like fire against my cold sweat.
“I leave for five fucking minutes and you can’t keep your hands to yourself...”Endor bit as I closed my eyes shut, trying to focus onbreathing.
“Hey now, that one’s—”
“Mine.”Endor growled, and I could feel the faint haze of energy enveloping him.Enveloping us.
Didn’t he feel the pull, too?
“And if you want to leave with your dick intact, I suggest you back the fuck off,” he snapped, his tone feral and unhinged.
But I didn’t have time to process Endor’s words, or the way they made my entire body heat like a flame, a fresh blossom of wetness coating my thighs.
I could only focus on digging my nails into his forearm, on burying my face against his soft shirt as the vision pulled me under.
“Valory,” he purred, bringing me to once more.Everything was a blur of color, of cold air.
Mercy...she was in a room.A small room, surrounded by wolves, but a woman stood over her.
They were arguing about something and the man, the alpha who took her...he was there, too.
Randy.
His name is Randy...
As soon as it came it went, fleeting like a thief in the night.
I stared up at Endor, my fingernails loosening their grip.
Endor stared at me with dark, intense eyes, and I noticed at that moment I was pressed against him, his arms around my waist a solid support.Heat bloomed in me as I looked at him.
“She had a vision...”I murmured.“I saw it...I—”
“What did you see?”he asked, his voice low and smooth like butter.
My eyelashes fluttered as I melted in his hold, searching for a way to ground myself. He swayed us back and forth, his gaze intent on mine as he licked his lips. The motion as we rocked back and forth was like a lullaby, a sense of safety blanketing me now that he was here.
Which was crazy considering he was ademon.Safe and warm wasn’t in their definition, but yet...
That’s what I felt at the moment, looking at Endor.
Like no matter what happened, I could count on him to keep us safe, Mercy and I.
And I wasn’t sure how to feel about that.
“The town...the town you were talking about,” I said as I tried to hold onto the images, rush the words out.
“I saw a group of wolves, but they were human, and there was a girl.A girl Mercy’s age maybe? They were arguing with the one who took her, his name is Randy.”
Endor’s gaze did not falter, his lips pursed.
“When I get my fucking hands on him...”he growled, his eyes flashing red.
The sight made my stomach flip.
Was I...did I like...this?
