Ethan told him we loved him.
Which we do. I’m not surprised by that.
I’m surprised it was with words and not some other cryptic way for Ethan to express himself.
Regardless, I smile knowing how far he’s come even with the underlying stress from work and his father, he’s found something with both of us that I could never provide.
Surprisingly it doesn’t make me feel less than, it makesusfeel complete.
I’m about to ask if we should tell the others we’re leaving, although if they saw what happened in the voyeur room, they probably already know where we are headed.
A blush forms over my cheeks at the thought, even though I was fully dressed the entire time, my guys were completely exposed and I was in control. It was erotic and sensual and addicting.
“No, we’re leaving now!” Seamus’ voice echoes through the lobby with a power I’ve never heard.
He’s got his arm around Mimi, shouting at Hudson.
“Are they okay?”
“Hey!” Dane screams, shifting into a jog as he treks over to them. “What’s going on?”
“She’s been having contractions and didn’t tell anyone. Her water just broke and we should be at the hospital already,” Seamus says, as he glares at her in the most annoyed but loving way I’ve ever seen.
“I’m two weeks early, I didn’t think they were real contractions,” Mimi bites back.
“I’ll get the car.” Ethan runs toward the exit.
“Hudson, grab the bag from my truck, we’re going with Ethan.”
Dane runs on the other side of Mimi and drapes her arm around his shoulder.
“Nothing like bringing in the New Year with a baby, huh Meems?”
I’ve never seen Ethan drive so fast. Even before the accident he was an overly cautious driver but after it happened, he rarely wanted to drive and when he did he would always drive just under the speed limit and would be so uptight and fully aware of everything around us while we drove.
Seamus was able to stay with Mimi in the backseat even though I think he hated not being in the driver's seat. But it all worked out with impeccable timing, like the amazing miracle that childbirth is, and now I’m holding this beautiful soul in my arms.
“I told you it was going to be a girl,” Dane says to Seamus ashe stares at his little girl like she hung the moon, while cooing in my arms.
Seamus just rolls his eyes with a smirk. I think he knew too, but didn’t want to admit it.
“Have you guys picked a name yet?” Dane asks.
“If it was a girl Mimi wanted to name her Stella,” Seamus smiles as the name leaves his lips, “after my mom.”
Dane pats his shoulder with a comfort I’m familiar with. She must mean something, or meant something to Seamus, and his eyes shine bright with pride as he shares a look with Dane.
“I’m going to check on Mimi,” he tells me like he’s entrusting me with his life. But I totally get it. I would be the same way.
I smile and nod, giving him a reassuring look.
He walks over to Mimi and I know we only have a few more minutes holding this beauty until we need to give her back to her mommy.
“She’s beautiful,” Dane says as he wiggles one of her teeny, tiny fingers.
“Do you want kids?” Ethan asks with a concerned curiosity.
Dane sucks air in through his teeth as I hold mine.
