“Everything is fine for me. You don’t need to ask. I love you. She sent me an email last night telling me about your girly day and she also said she loves you. “

“I feel flattered and I love her too.”

“I love you, Kate and thank you for everything you do for us.”

“I will never tire of hearing you say it. I love you, too. Go to sleep now so in a few hours you are in good shape to see our house. “

“Agreed. See you later, love, I love you. “

I go down to the hotel lobby and find Max with a huge teddy bear.

“Good morning, Kate, bad night?”

“No, actually I slept really well. Who is the teddy bear for? Nellie or Angel? “

“For Angel, of course. But Nellie is gorgeous though. Come on, I'll drive you have a tired face.”

“And she’s single, too. I know I don’t feel really okay, but that’s all it is.”

CHAPTER 18

hen we arrive in Aspen, the day promises to be a wonderful one. We take the car and go to the manor house. The real estate agent is waiting for us in front of the gate with Michael.

“Mrs. Miller, Mr. Anderson, it's a pleasure to see you again.”

“Too many formalities, Kate and Max will do just fine. Meet my daughter, Angel and my friend, Nellie.”

“You have a beautiful daughter. Hello, princess, you will see that you will love this place.”

The house is even more beautiful than I remembered it. We sign the contract asking to send a copy to Logan so he signs it, too.

The tour of the house lasts for a long time and there are very few changes to make. We meet with Agnes, the housekeeper, the two guards and the gardener. I thank them for their work, reassuring them that they will continue to work here if they want to exactly as before and to my great pleasure, everyone agrees.

Angel loves her new room and seeing her so happy fills my heart with joy. We decide to rely on Michael, an interior designer to take care of the furnishing and changes in complete autonomy. He promises us that in a month or so, the house will be handed over to us. I am more than satisfied with the progress of the day.

We are back in Chicago and while talking to Nellie, another wave of nausea hits me.

“Are you okay?”she asks me worried

“Yes, don’t worry, a little nausea.”

“Are you pregnant?”she asks me curious

“Absolutely not, I guess I am getting my period.”

“Hmm ... are you sure?”

“Sure, no.”
