CHAPTER 17
s soon as I touch the pillow I fall into a deep sleep. The 9 hours until the departure fly. I wake up much rested and start getting ready.
Max is waiting for me in the car, very happy for the trip.“Hello sis, you're looking really shitty. Logan was right,”he begins as he starts the car.
“Happy to see you too, dumbass. What is this smell? Have you changed perfume? Or shower gel?”
“You are worse than a hound!”he bursts out laughing.“Are you pregnant?”
“Max, don't say bullshit!”I cannot be, right? I mean, we had unprotected sex but I wasn't in my fertile period. At least I think it wasn’t. No, I'm not pregnant, I can’t be.
Once we get on the jet, we start to organize things a bit and afterward, I rest a little.
When we land, I am so excited and nervous.
I meet Nellie at the coffee place, she arrives just before me. As soon as she sees me, she waves at me.
“Hi, Kate, it's nice to see you in person.”
“Hi, Nellie, I can say the same. How are you?”
“Well, curious to meet the woman who stole Logan's heart. And I can understand it.”
“Well, thank you. How are things going? How is Angel?”
“She is fine, busy with school and courses. And things are going well. “
“Here, I wanted to talk to you for a moment about some things. So, tomorrow I'm going to see a house I'm buying. It is located in Colorado.”
“Logan had mentioned something to me, congratulations!”
“Thanks. As soon as we finish making small improvements I would like you and Angel to come live there. I know I'm asking you for a crazy change. But I would love you to move there with me before Christmas.”
“Me too?”
“Sure, you're part of the family. Provided you want to, obviously.”
“I would be honored. Then Angel will grow up and no longer need a nanny. I will have to look for another job…“
“No Nellie, you won't have to go looking for another job. 5 year from now, surely Max will have some babies. Well he needs to find a woman for that first… and I hope to have some, too. So if you want, you can stay with us forever. You would have your own apartment inside the manor. And you will have your freedom and be able to manage your time as you want.”
“This is an offer I can't refuse, not in a million years.”

We talk a little bit about everything. She is intrigued by my work.
“Let's go get Angel,”she says. “You'll see, she will be super shy in the beginning but afterward, you won't be able to get her to stop her talking.”
“Oh, I know, when we called her she was so curious and interested.”
“It's normal, Logan never introduced us to a woman. And for me, it was also a pleasant surprise. He deserves to be happy.”
I am speechless. I don't know what to say.
As soon as we arrive in front of Angel's school, I start to feel nervous. When she comes out and sees me, she doesn’t hesitate to run toward me and hug me tight. She is a wonderful child.
