“No, I won’t. You can say anything to me.”God, I hope I mean that once he manages to get the words out.
“You and me, we’re strong, right?”
Ravi nodded, still holding his hands. “There’s no question there. I meant what I said. I love you.”
“Good.” Harvey face lit up with a smile.
Immediately Ravi felt confident in where he stood with Harvey because he’d basically admitted his feelings for another man and Harvey was still here, calmly listening to what he had to say and he wassmiling.
“I love you and you love me,” Harvey continued. “And you love Bo—” Rav moved to pull his hands away, but Harvey held them tight. “Andyou have feelings for Bo. And I have feelings too. I love you both—at least I think I could if given the chance. I don’t want to lose you, but maybe I don’t have to. Maybe there’s enough love for everyone.”
“Are you proposing what I think you are?” Ravi looked at him with wide eyes. Was Harvey putting Rav’s own dream into words? Ravi’s nerves kicked in but he wasn’t backing away, not if he was to follow his heart. “The three of us could be together.”
Harvey nodded. “Apart from societal norms, what’s to stop us from doing what feels right?”
Ravi knew the answer to that question—his parents, but he pushed that thought aside. “You’d be willing to try a poly relationship?”
“Not just willing, it’s something I want. I want both youandBo. I don’t want to have to choose between you and I don’t think you want to choose either. And as for Bo, deep down I know he has feelings for us too, feelings for us both.”
“We need to talk to him, don’t we?” Ravi said.
“I’d like to. Oh God.” Harvey fell back on the bed, forearm across his eyes. “This is so not how I expected this conversation to turn out.”
Ravi lay back on the bed on his side, head supported by one palm as he looked at Harvey. “What were you expecting?”
Harvey moved his arm and opened his eyes. “To be honest, I’m not entirely sure but I knew I had to tell you the truth about my feelings before we went much further.”
“I’m glad you did,” Ravi said. But at the same time a part of him was nervous—anxious for Bo’s response and concerned for what being part of threesome would mean.
Chapter Thirteen
Oneofthebenefitsof hanging with rock stars was the never-ending steam of invitations to events. From product launches, to fashion shows, and music industry parties, they could be out every night of the week partying. Thank God he had Ravi and Parker to hang with when the guys got dragged off to meet various people and do their obligatory mingling.
He sipped his vodka tonic and checked out the crowd from the quiet corner they’d settled in—quiet being a relative word given the music was still loud enough that you needed to raise your voice to be heard. But being tucked away in the corner was great for people watching and he wasn’t disappointed. From here he could see the comings and goings of various celebrities and was currently enthralled by an animated conversation RG was having with a soapie starlet. He’d love to be a fly on the wall for that one.
It always gave Bo a laugh when he checked out the social pages the next day to see what the band had supposedly been up to. How the media portrayed the band members was nothing like the four men he’d come to know very well, and he got no end of teasing material from the ridiculous news articles.
Thinking of the media took his mind back to the article he’d read only that morning. Someone had taken a photo of Harvey and Rav standing near Harvey’s Cayenne. They looked so good together—Rav’s dark colouring and smaller frame, cradled in Harvey’s embrace. Harvey’s long hair was dragged back into a knot at the back of his head showing off his strong profile. His features weren’t fully visible, but Bo could imagine the look of adoration on his face—he’d seen it often enough when he’d caught Harvey staring at Rav when he thought he wasn’t being observed. The journalist who wrote the article based on the photo didn’t know any of that though, so the article hinted at hookups and Harvey’s latest fling.
He wondered what Rav’s parents would think of seeing him in the media kissing Harvey. They’d taken a bit of coming around when Ravi first came out as a teenager and Bo got the sense they still weren’t perfectly happy, however Ravi had made an uneasy peace with them. Certain things, such as Ravi’s love life, wasn’t mentioned in their presence. It made Bo’s heart ache for him but at least he had his found family to provide him with unconditional support.
An arm slunk around his shoulders, and he turned his head to see Rafe. “Hey, man.”
“Having a good time?”
Bo chuckled. “Always.”
“Good. Listen, you’ve heard of Clay Richards?”
Bo nodded. “Sure. It’s hard not to after he won that singing comp.”
Rafe smiled. “Anyway, he’d like to meet you.”
“He would? Why?”
“No idea. He saw you across the room and was swayed by your sexy good looks?” Rafe joked.
Parker elbowed him in the ribs. “Stop calling my bestie sexy. You should only have eyes for me.”
