“Well, that’s strange,” El, said.
“Can you hear them?”Willow asked, El.
“No, do you?”El asked.
“No, but I’m not a shifter.Use your lioness or panther to find them.They can scent their mates if they’re unable to hear them,” Willow instructed.
El looked at Shawn for a second and he just shrugged.He knew less about their shifter side than she did.El took a deep breath and tried to focus on her beasts.She had grown used to feeling them with her all the time, but she wasn’t sure how to tap into certain senses, without shifting altogether.She struggled for a few minutes, not sure what to do before growling in frustration.
“You’re trying too hard,” Willow told her.
“How can that be possible?”
“It’s second nature to them to scent their mates.Just take a deep breath,” Willow urged her.
El took a deep breath, but she didn’t smell anything normal.
“Again,” Willow told her.
El took another deep breath, and then another.Willow watched her and continued to encourage her.Finally, El felt a wave of new senses flood her nose.It was her panther, she wasn’t sure how she knew that, but she felt it.
“My panther came forward, she smells Shawn,” El told Willow.
“Of course, she’s scenting her mate, which is Shawn.You need your lioness.Explain that to your panther.”
“What?Just talk to her?”El giggled.
“Exactly,” Willow replied.
El sighed, she felt like a child.She felt silly talking to herself, but Willow seemed to know what she was talking about, so El tried to explain in her mind to her panther that she needed her lioness to find her mates.There wasn’t much of a reply, but El decided to try smelling the air again.It took her several more tries before she finally found Marcus’ scent.El squealed with delight.
“I did it.I found Marcus,” she cheered as she took off in the direction of his scent.
El was practically running down the halls until she found Marcus in his room.
“I found you!”she yelled as she barged into his room.
“I see that,” he chuckled.
“No, Willow helped me tap into my lioness’ sense of smell, and I tracked you down,” El explained further.
“Wow, really?”Marcus asked, standing behind his desk.
“Yeah, isn’t that exciting.”
“That’s incredible, El.Hello, Willow,” Marcus said, in passing.
“Hello,” Willow returned.
“Can you find Ryan or Trip, now?”Shawn asked.El could see the intrigue in his mind.She wondered if he was trying to tap into his panther as well as per Willow’s instructions.
“I’ll try.”
El was able to find Trip and Ryan a bit easier and led everyone to where they were out on the patio.
“Ha, I found you guys too,” El chirped.
“Tracking again, mate?”Trip asked.
