Scanning our stuff through self-checkout, we diligently bagged up our items. We’d have to fit them in the saddlebags on our bikes which were far more limited than anyone expected.

Once everything was scanned, Leo pulled out her wallet.

“Sorry, I can’t pay.” Kiera cleared her throat, suddenly nervous.

Leo just laughed. “No Princess of mine is paying for shit.”

But I wrapped her up in a tight hug from behind. My mouth was centimeters from her ear. “Exactly.”

Nodding, Kiera rolled her eyes. “I know but it sucks to not even be able to offer. I hate having all my shit tied to my mom’s.”

Any purchase on Kiera’s card — even fucking underwear — would have given her mother a way to locate her. A store location on her statement could easily be sent to Gabe.

We couldn’t risk it, especially now that she was Violence’s latest recruit. And certainly not as Valemont was becoming the center of some unknown, underground operation.

My voice was a low rumble in her ear. “I can help you set up your own account this week if you want. Or I can just give you a copy of my cards.”

Kiera leaned her head back on my shoulder, a laugh rolling through her chest as Leo nodded. “Mine too.”

She shook her head. “You two are ridiculous.”

“You can spend all of Daddy’s money, Princess.” Leo licked her lips, letting her eyes travel all over Kiera’s body.

Ignoring Leo’s absurdity, Kiera directed her flushed face back to mine. “What do I need to set that up?”

“Driver’s license, Social security number, and an address.” I smiled at her as I grabbed the receipt from the printer.

“You sure it isn’t a bother?”

“Don’t be ridiculous. You live with us now, Bunny. We’re going to take care of you forever now.” I let the words slip from my lips, maybe revealing too much to her. But once The Oracle had its claws in her, they wouldn’t let go.

And neither would I.

With our goodies in hand, we walked toward the door as I slipped the receipt into my jacket pocket. The sliding automatic doors let a gust of cold air smack us in the face as we stepped up to our bikes.

Letting out a bratty sigh, my girl shoved her hands in her pockets and looked around the empty lot. “Kind of a lame reward, considering…”

I lifted my head to look at her, the unspoken words coming into my mind like a prophecy.

“Considering I cleaned up a murder vehicle.”

It was too late to stop the devious smirk from growing on my lips, spreading to my cheeks like wildfire.

Grabbing her waist and pulling her in, I let my voice drop to a growl. “Good thing that’s not all, Bunny.”

She had no idea what we had in store, and I was about to turn the intensity to max just to make sure she felt appreciated.

KIERA

What didshe mean by that?My mind raced with options, other ways that my two saviors could pay me back for covering their asses.

But as Leo climbed back on her bike, throwing her long, muscular leg over the seat and lowering her ass to the leather. She held out her hand to me, beckoning me closer with two bent fingers.

Crossing my arms, I stood in front of her. The sun had set while I was cleaning the car, and all I had to warm myself against the chilly November air was my flimsy sweater.

Despite the cold, Leo ripped off her leather jacket. Its massive Valemont Violence patch took up nearly the entire back panel of the coat. It was what hid underneath the coat that made my heart skip a beat.
