“He said his mother went to his shoots and was always present.”
Oh.
Okay.
I think.
“And, Chase, if I could go back in time, I would have been at all of your photo shoots too.”
I looked down again when I started to cry, but I let Morgan pull me against him.
“Then you wouldn’t have the perfect brother title, because you would have beaten the shit out of people,” I mumbled.
“No, Chase. By keeping you safe, I would haveearnedthat perfect brother title.”
I dried my eyes with the back of my hand and took a deep breath. I’d wanted badly to be part of my son’s life.
“I wonder what he does. Does he go to college? Is he done with college? Is he still a model? Does he work?” All of that was rhetorical, but I wondered out loud.
“I don’t know exactly. Andrew, the club owner, also owns some coffee shops. He said Brandon works there with him,” Morgan said.
I nodded and stared at the balcony door as I wondered what he did there.
“I want to meet him. Do you think he’ll want to meet me?”
“I don’t know a person alive who wouldn’t want to meet you, Chase,” Hollis said.
“Are you supposed to meet him again? Can I come?” I asked Morgan. He sat down but leaned forward again.
“I’m supposed to meet him next week for his photo shoot. However, I’m going to talk to the club owner tomorrow and see if I can meet with Brandon’s partner before then. Then we can arrange something.”
Oh yeah. I forgot that the people at Morgan’s clubs have special types of relationships. Since Morgan had to meet with the partner first, did that mean Brandon wasn’t the one in charge?
“Um, question… If you’re meeting with the partner, does that mean Brandon isn’t the one in charge?” I asked. Morgan raised his eyebrow at me, and I pinched the bridge of my nose and sighed before staring up at the ceiling in frustration. “Sorry, I’m probably wording that wrong.” I closed my eyes and snapped my fingers as I tried to think of the terms he’d explained briefly to me before. “The Dominator!”
Over Hollis and Patrick’s laughter I could hear Morgan mumble, “Lord.”
“Brandon’s partner would be his Dominant, or Dom, for short,” Morgan explained.
“Is it a guy or a girl?”
“Brandon has a male Dominant.”
“Is he gay, then?” I quickly opened my eyes and sat up. “Not that it matters, because it doesn’t. I was just curious.”
“Having a male Dominant doesn’t mean they’re gay. They could both be bi-sexual and this is where they’re happy. There’s nothing wrong with that,” Morgan said as he looked at Hollis. Were they having some secret conversation about my kid?
“None of that matters, Chase,” Patrick said.
“I know it doesn’t. I was just thinking out loud. I hope the Dominator is good to him and doesn’t make him clean the house all the time.”
“I can assure you that this man cares a lot about Brandon.”
“How do you know, Morg? You talked to them for half an hour,” I pointed out.
“Trust me on this. He’s extremely protective of Brandon, and he’s the wall you’re going to have to go through in order to meet Brandon.”
“Got it.”
