“What did you do? Now they will never let us go!” the Frenchman frantically yells.
“In case you didn’t notice, they are raining lead on us. Plus, he had a shotgun and was about to use it.” I put my side arm on my waist and train the AK forward at ready low stance.
“Right. Well, one less thing to worry about.”
They reload as soon as he finishes that sentence.
“Now!” I command, and both of us stand up just enough to put our weapons above gunwale and return fire.
We manage to wound a few and kill some others.
“Fuck! I’m empty. I need to reload,” The Bedouin says.
“Me too.” We take cover again. “I’ll change position to the stern to have a clear shot.” I point to it.
“Good idea. I’ll keep them busy.”
I move as soon as he acknowledges my words.
On my way over, I grab that drum magazine from before. The bastard was right; you never know when you’ll need it. Upon reaching the stern I peek to check if they have seen me moving over here. They haven’t. They are too busy fighting the Frenchman. I turn my head to look at him and he’s fully engaged. This angle is perfect.
I put my weapon against my shoulder and open fire without wasting another second.
My unanticipated bullets hit their bodies center mass. They are trying to take cover, but they are too many for that little ship.
Too bad for them.
Too bad I don’t give a fuck.
Rage’s yelling gets drowned by the gunfire. The recoil shakes my body, the pressure of the kicks hurts, but I won’t stop until my mag is dry or until I see them all dead.
No one is going to get between Bruno and me.
Not even pirates.
“I’d throw a grenade on that flimsy ship and watch it sink. But we all know you’re too much of a pussy to do it!”Life says, and something clicks inside my head.
I like the sound of that!
“Ha! I knew it, you puss–Wait what?”Life asks as I pull the pin of a grenade and chuck it out.
Kobe!
BOOM!
The grenade goes off, and the ship is now sinking. No pirates jump overboard, they are all dead. Their bodies will now rest at the bottom of the Red Sea, which is really red today.
We cease fire, my ears ring, and I press the earpiece to communicate with Rage. “We got them.”
“FOR FUCK’S SAKE SARAH! Are you okay?”
I check my body for wounds and find one. Nothing major – a bullet just grazed me by my waist. I was so focused on the fight I didn’t feel any pain. “I’m all right.”
“Good. What about The Bedouin?” Rage is back to his calm self.
I turn to him and start to say, “He’s fi– Bedouin!” I run to him.
“What is it Sarah? What happened?” Rage asks.
