“Rage?” I hear him mumbling.

What language is that? Could it be English?

“I found him.”

English, but more important, that voice…

“He’s staring at me, confused as fuck.”

He slowly removes his wrappings.

Once the top of his head is free, he removes a wig.

What kind of man wears a wig here?I guess I can’t judge. I’m in a costume of sorts myself.

He looks down while revealing his face and says, “Don’t freak out, okay?”

Freak out?

“Bruno, it’s me,” he says. Well, to be more accurate, shesays.

She finally shows me his, her, fuck.Herface.

My stomach twists, and a sharp chill runs down my spine. I’m frozen, my mind too busy trying to put this puzzle together.

How can she be here? Is this real?

Am I dreaming? Is this a nightmare?

It’s definitely a fucking nightmare.

“Come on, say something!” That’s her voice, no mistaking it. I’ve been dreaming of her lately, and that’s her sweet voice. I am one hundred percent sure.

“Sarah?” I gasp under my breath. It feels as if my heart stops beating.

“Yes, it’s me. Let’s keep it quiet, don’t draw attention to us,” she whispers, scanning the area for curious eyes.

I step closer, take hold of her jaw then pull her to me so I can take a good look. I need to confirm this up close.

Blue eyes.

Radiantblue eyes.

My eyes widen in terror.

That’s her smell. It’s really her… but how? Why?

“H-how? I don’t get it,” I manage to say with a trembling voice. My head is spinning, it seems like it weighs a ton, I can feel my pulse in my eyes.

“I came looking for you, I know you need help.” She’s talking to me but I can’t hear her.

I pin her with my stare.

Her black hair.

Her sleek, raven-black hair.

I slide my hand under her sleeves to feel her skin. I slowly move the tip of my fingers until I reach a scar, that undeniable first scar. There’s no one else in the world who can have the same scar.
