I did, and saw stars. I bowed so tightly I nearly fell off the bed.

Castiel’s hands wrapped around my ribcage suddenly, pulling me back to safety. The heat of his skin against mine nearly made me feral. I needed release. I needed more right now.

My fingers flicked faster and faster against that bud at the top of my sex. My legs tightened, my toes curled, and my breath came in sharp, shallow gasps.

“Almost,” he assured me. “You’re almost there.” He removed one hand, but left the other splayed across my abdomen. My entire universe narrowed down to his hand on my belly and my fingers on my sex.

And then it happened. My vision went black, a hoarse shout slipped from my mouth, and rapture cascaded around me, pulling me over and down a cliff. Pleasure pooled around me, thick and sticky and oh so sweet. I gasped for breath.

When I finally turned my head to look at him, Castiel’s nostrils were flared and he looked ready to pounce and eat me alive. Instead of frightening me, it was exhilarating.

“Skies, that was better than I imagined.” He gently reached down, grabbed my wrist, and brought my hand to his mouth.

As I stared, shocked, he opened his lips and placed my two fingers in his mouth. The heat of his tongue made my insides squirm and shiver. He licked all traces of my arousal off my fingers, eyes shut as he relished the taste, and then he carefully set my hand on my stomach, replacing his.

“Perfect,” he declared softly. “I hope you feel like your body gives you pleasure.”

I nodded, mute. I didn’t have words for any of this. “Thank you,” I finally breathed.

He smirked at me, that annoying smile I didn’t find nearly as annoying anymore. Instead, butterflies spread through my stomach at the sight. “Don’t thank me. It’s your body. Next time, Lily, I’m going to taste you straight from the source.”

My cheeks heated as I noticed the huge, hard bulge in his trousers.

“But right now,” he added, reaching for my shift and tugging it down to my knees, “you need to go home before your mother wonders where you are.”

My mother hasn’t even noticed I’m gone. The thought flitted through, bringing sadness in its wake. But loneliness didn’t follow, because I was with Castiel who saw me and liked me and wanted to spend time with me.

I sighed, pushing myself up into a sitting position. “Very well.” I dressed as if I hadn’t just had the most amazing experience of my life.

Castiel surprised me by walking me home, even though it was only a few yards away. I waved good night at him as I entered the dim house. He smiled and took off into the air, leaving me breathless once more.

Castiel

The next day I was up before the sun. I hadn’t slept most of the night—not after the incendiary experience with Lilith. After I’d returned to my room, I’d had to take my cock in hand twice before my mind calmed enough to lie in my bed. And even then, I could smell her there. Skies, she was glorious. The sight of her, head thrown back and eyes shut in climax, would be burned into my memories for the rest of my life.

Somehow the sight of her bare back made my arousal surge like nothing else. Perhaps I’d always been fated to a wingless mate, and had no idea how much I’d be attracted to one until faced with a human pleasuring herself on my bed.

Here I was, flying through a wet, chilly cloud with a cock so hard it hurt. Again. I shot up into the air, above the cloud cover, where sunlight flickered across the gray veil obscuring the earth below.

I hovered in place, opening my trousers and fisting my prick. I groaned and shuddered, my mind filled with images of Lilith’s hair wrapped around my fist, Lilith’s breathy moans in my ear, and her taste on my tongue. I stroked hard, fast, so sharp it burned. I didn’t want soft and gentle. I needed a fuck.

My orgasm struck me like lightning, and I fell. Tumbling through the air, piercing the clouds, I let the wind twist my body as the sensation cracked through me. Wind rushed through my feathers and hit my face, making my eyes water. When I got my breath back, I unfurled my wings and stopped perhaps fifty feet above the ground. I caught myself, wingbeats evening out.

With a relieved huff, I buttoned myself back up. I hadn’t done that in a very long time. Love’s fall, as we called it, was usually done by besotted lovers or pubescent seraphim who wanted a rush and thrill with their climax. Apparently I’d turned back into a randy adolescent since meeting Lilith.

I forced myself to return to the church. From the air, the old building had a disgraced, melancholy look to it. The bell in the tower was rusting from disuse, and bats and birds made their homes under the eaves. The neighborhood was quiet in the dawn light, the homes surrounding the church and hugging one another. A shaft of sunlight broke free of the clouds and landed on the strange glass house attached to the church, shining in my eyes.

Frowning, I went to it and landed on the domed top. The metal girders creaked beneath me.

Did they think a seraph would truly submit to a cage like this? I scoffed, spreading my wings and crouching down to feel the seams of glass and metal. It wasn’t strong enough to hold one of us. I hadn’t been back inside since the tour the first day. These elders had more hubris than they knew what to do with.

Somewhere below, a door opened and shut. A bird chirped, and high, feminine voices drifted on the wind toward me. The neighborhood was stirring.

I turned to drop behind the church, somewhere less noticeable, but the girls below noticed me.

One gasped, and the other flung her arm out to point at me. “Oh my goodness, it’s the Herald!” Her tone conveyed awe.

I grimaced.
