Gwynning: I don't ever think about you guys as sexual creatures, so it's jarring to look behind the veil and realize that's kind of what we’re talking about when we talk about having kids
KnotMyProblem: Which I assume is why I got punched in the face instead of welcomed into the family with open arms
Gwynning: More or less
Gwynning: I'm no anthropologist, but this conversation makes me wonder how different societies approach sex and friendship. Not that I want to have sex with you guys. It's just interesting to consider the dynamic
GlitterDoctor: I'd guess there are fewer trips to the moon in more sex-positive societies
GlitterDoctor: And it might also be generational. Young guys talk about sex pretty liberally. I know that Caleb and Everett aren’t the best example of a friendship divorced from intimacy, but from what I gather, they used to brag about their sexual conquests all the time to each other
GlitterDoctor: To be fair, I'm pretty sure I've heard them bragging to each other after one of them gets me alone, so maybe that hasn't stopped even though we’re monogamous
GlitterDoctor: Maybe it's an alpha thing
TeenDad2: Gross
GlitterDoctor: Like, maybe they feel the need to constantly one-up each other to prove how capable and virile they are
xVerity: I think there's some truth behind that
KnotMyProblem: Whoa whoa whoa
KnotMyProblem: Is this some medical research conversation, or are we just wildly speculating?
KnotMyProblem: Cuz it's not wrong to like sex. It's not wrong to want to brag about sex, or even just talk about it if you're boring
KnotMyProblem: What about omegas who enjoy adding notches to their bedposts?
KnotMyProblem: I don't think it's right to try to pin it on genetics
TeenDad2: Wow
GlitterDoctor: That's impressively deep of you, Knot
KnotMyProblem: It's whatever
KnotMyProblem: I just don't believe a love of sex or a preference for kink or ANYTHING to do with who you take to bed should be linked exclusively to genetics
xVerity: I'm in agreement.
xVerity: What I failed to articulate is that there are hormonal differences between alphas, betas, and omegas that do drive reactionary impulses, although they don’t necessarily dictate everything an individual does or seeks out regarding sexual satisfaction.
xVerity: Given some time, I could likely source and cite several academic papers with studies on the subject. For now, all I can do is give you my word that I know there are differences between how an omega brain processes stimuli and how an alpha brain processes the same, not that their brains are significantly different, but that the hormones their bodies produce create different chemistry that alters the way a body experiences the world.
xVerity: Much like testosterone and estrogen encourage a body to react in differing ways to identical stimuli.
GlitterDoctor: Usually I hate it when cis alpha men try to explain anything about my body to me, but you can talk nerdy to me anytime, xV
xVerity: Of course. I’d be glad to.
Gwynning: Were we supposed to answer a question?
KnotMyProblem: Yeah
TeenDad2: Babies!
Gwynning: Oh, right
