GlitterDoctor: I mean, your brother is kind of hot, TD… I’m thinking about going in for the kill.
TeenDad2: OMG
TeenDad2: GLIT NO
Jayne covered his mouth to keep from laughing out loud.
GlitterDoctor: He’s got those kind blue eyes and that soft blond hair… fuck, thinking about it gets me worked up.
It was true, but TD didn’t need to know that.
TeenDad2: GLIT NO, that’s my BROTHER
GlitterDoctor: Could *you* wingman for me, then? Seeing as he’s your brother, and all.
GlitterDoctor: Help a Single Dad out, TD
TeenDad2: omg I am not helping you sleep with my brother
TeenDad2: Although I guess you guys would be kinda cute together. And I’ve seen the way Everett looks at Bo and Penelope. It’s so obvious he wants to be a dad
TeenDad2: … okay, so maybe I’ll help you
TeenDad2: but you’re not allowed to talk to me about sex stuff, got it?
It was too much. Jayne dropped his phone and buried his head in the blankets to stifle his laughter. TD was too pure a soul.
GlitterDoctor: I was teasing you. Mostly.
GlitterDoctor: I’m not going to make you wingman me so I can jump your brother’s bones. I’m not that evil.
GlitterDoctor: Knot, on the other hand…
TeenDad2: LOL
TeenDad2: It’s okay. Knot and I have kind of made peace now that I’m engaged and everything.
TeenDad2: Anyway, if you want me to help wingman you, or if you want me to get my brother to help, just lemme know
TeenDad2: I don’t think any Single Dad should stay single, if that’s what he wants, I mean. It’s not bad to be single and love it, but I feel like all of us are the kind of guys who need someone special in their lives. I’ve been trying to think of a way we could all help Knot find someone to love, but with him in New York, it’s hard. If you think of anything, tell me. I wanna help
GlitterDoctor: Sure thing
GlitterDoctor: You’ve got a big heart, TD. I know we joke a lot in chat, but I wanted to let you know how much I appreciate you. Thanks for being endlessly optimistic and so full of life
TeenDad2: Love you, Glit. You’re welcome. It’s a good thing that they didn’t actually execute me, huh? ;)
The exchange left Jayne smiling. He closed out of the private conversation and returned to the main chat, where TD was taunting Knot with knowledge he couldn’t have, and Knot was falling for it. On the surface, it often seemed that TD was oblivious, but the more Jayne got to know him, the more he believed that it was at least partially an act. Just like Knot knew how to get a rise out of TD, TD knew how to press Knot’s buttons. It seemed a shame that they hadn’t ended up together.
While TD and Knot exchanged quips, Jayne closed the Single Dad chat and opened his text messages. He’d been keeping his brother, Simon, up to date with the housing situation, but he’d failed to mention that he’d met anyone. Earlier that day, TD had mentioned that he was messaging Harlow, and Jayne thought it prudent to follow up before Simon got any outlandish ideas about his personal activities.
Hey, you up?
The reply came several seconds later.Yeah, what’s going on?
Can I call?
Sure.
