“Thank you for believing me.” I cup his jaw and kiss him softly.

“Is there anyone else I need to know about before school Tuesday?” Nico sounds pissed. Maybe he knew Caden’s sister. I’m not familiar with her, but I never went to his parties growing up.

I glance over my shoulder at Nico. “Don’t ask me. I’ve been hiding under a rock apparently.”

“That’s why we couldn’t find you.” Eli smirks.

Turning back to Caden, I press my forehead to his and draw in his cinnamon scent. “Thank you for telling me. I’m sorry I didn’t know.”

“Few do.”

Kenz might. She warned me about Tanner, but I thought the enemy of my enemy is my friend. Except the horsemen aren’t really my enemy anymore. At least not really.

I release Caden and stand, holding my hand out to him. A peace offering. “I think there’s some cake and ice cream left if anyone is hungry.”

The evening was quietly subdued. We watched some TV and ate cake and ice cream. While I brush my teeth getting ready for bed, I remember all the passing touches. The occasional kiss. Andsnuggles on the couch. But between Luke’s father’s interrogation and Caden’s sister’s story, my heart feels sick.

I also texted Mom to remind her tomorrow is Labor Day, not a school day, therefore I could sleep in and intend to. I don’t need her banging on my door at 6 a.m. Especially not with two guys in my bed.

After I finish, I open my bathroom door and look at the demons waiting on my bed. One dark and intimidating. The other light and twisted. Both relaxed on opposite sides of the bed in only their boxers. I pause and lean in the doorway, dressed in a camisole and pajama shorts set.

They both tempt me beyond reason. Being alone with them is dangerous.

“What are you waiting for, little nympho?” Caden’s green eyes hold me. His smile is devilish.

“Have you guys ever gotten someone pregnant?” I swallow around the lump in my throat. The question wasn’t even on the tip of my tongue. I’m not sure where it came from, but I need to know.

“No.” Luke draws my attention. “And if we had, we would have taken care of what’s ours, princess. Now come to bed.”

I still hesitate, my toes freezing on the tile. Of all my horsemen, these two have more power over me. My lust for Luke magnifies when he touches me. And Caden… Fuck, I’m lucky I’m not soaking wet every time he’s near. What he can do to me… My blood boils with the need for it. For them. Do I worry I won’t be able to control myself when I’m caught between the heat of them?

Hell yes.

“Harper?” Caden’s tone is gentle, drawing my gaze back to him. “Come to bed.”

He holds his hand out, and I step forward without another thought. Craving his touch. His story still resonates in my chest. His sister’s story. I crawl onto the bed between them and join them under the covers.

My pulse picks up. I’ve slept in Caden’s bed for the past two nights. Now it’s just me, Luke, and Caden. Earlier, Eli keyed me up with promises of later, but this night ended so differently from how it started. The others all hugged and kissed me before leaving, promising we’d spend time together tomorrow.

Luke leans over to the nightstand and opens my laptop. The video turns on, and the live feed shows Jack working on his computer. Eli sits in bed with a book. Caden’s and Luke’s rooms are empty and dark.

“There.” Jack finishes with a flourish, and a new feed pops up. Nico walks by the camera in only a towel, with water dripping down his abs. My mouth goes dry. They’re all amazing athletes, and their bodies tell that story. Hard with rippling muscles, lean and firm. A teenage girl’s wet dream brought to life.

Jack whistles. “Damn. You sure you don’t go for guys? I’d be more than willing to help you experiment.”

Apparently not just a teenage girl’s dream.

Nico turns and notices the light on his computer for his video, I imagine. His eyes narrow and he sits at his desk. “How the fuck did you get into my computer, Jack?”

“Trade secret.” Jack winks. “I’ll let you in on it for a kiss.”

“Just kiss him to shut him up.” Caden laughs. “That’s what I had to do.”

I tuck that knowledge away for another time, my attention on Nico.

Nico’s cheeks redden as he shakes his head. His gaze goes from screen to screen before he finds what he’s looking for. He grins as he spots me. “Sunshine.”

“Welcome to my life in a fishbowl.” I return his smile and hold my arms out like I’m presenting some kind of award.
