I move so that she has her back to the wall, and I kiss her. “Baby, I love that you worry about me, but you don’t need to. I will always come back to you.” I rest my forehead on hers and hate that my cock is hard right now. I don’t want her to think that I want to use her, it’s just she’s so fucking beautiful and amazing that I can’t think straight when I’m with her.
She smiles at me. “Is he gone?”
“Yeah, my brothers took him to the clubhouse where we can talk to him properly and find out more information. You sure you’re okay after seeing him?”
“I kind of freaked out a little, it brought back memories that I don’t want to remember. He’s nasty. He has a mean streak in him.”
I groan, I hate hearing that he hurt her. “Well, you don’t need to worry about him anymore, sweetheart. He won’t be touching you again. No one will.”
“Does that include you?” Her eyes search for mine and when they find them, she stares at me.
“I’ll only touch you when you’re ready, if that’s what you want. If you don’t want me to touch you then we’ll deal with that too. I just want you to feel sale, baby.” I kiss her. It’s raw and full of feeling.
“Come on we need to get back to the clubhouse now.” I let her down, slowly and then she takes my hand as I lead her out to my bike. The journey back isn’t as fun as the journey here earlier, but I know that we are going to get some information out of this guy and then I’m going to get my own kind of justice.
When we pull up to the clubhouse and I help Piper off the bike, she grabs my hand. “I know you’re probably going to kill him after he talks. I’m not stupid. Do you think I could speak to him first?”
“No fucking way.” I explode. “Piper, why would you put yourself through that pain?”
“I need closure from that side of things, and I want to know his motivation too. I need to know. It might help me.”
“And what if it doesn’t. What if it sets off some sort of PTSD reaction? What do you do then?”
“I know you care about me, Braxton. I need to do this as much for myself as I do for the other girls. I need to know what drives men like him to do that kind of thing. I want to know how much he paid. I need to know. It’s burning me up inside.”
I pull her into my arms and hug her tight. “If it makes you feel better then I’ll speak to Prez about it. He won’t be happy because the girls don’t go downstairs.” I know Meg was down there when her ex was found and brought in, but Meg was stronger than Piper.
“Can you just ask him? Please?”
How can I refuse her when she looks at me like that? How can I refuse her when she thinks it will make her feel better?
“Okay, but if you need to leave at any stage, you just walk out. Right?”
“Thanks, Braxton.”
I shake my head; Prez is not going to like it.
Chapter Six
PIPER
Iloved riding on the back of Braxton’s bike. It was freeing and a thrill. When we walk back into the clubhouse, the girls are waiting for me with smiles on their faces.
“I’ll be back in a minute,” Braxton says as he leans down and kisses me on the cheek. Then he walks out.
The girls have their mouths wide open. “Looks like you’ve got something to tell us,” Rosie says, patting the seat next to her on the couch.
I sit down. “It was amazing. We went out to this wooded area and sat for a while just listening to the birds and the peace. It was beautiful.”
“And then…” Meg asks, with raised eyebrows.
“Then we kissed.”
The girls all squeal and clap their hands.
Rosie looks at me. “You know it means something when I guy puts a girl on his bike, right?”
“I didn’t know that until Katie in the diner said it. Do you think it was something special to Braxton?” My nerves have set in now that he’s not beside me. I'm doubting everything he said to me.
