“Trying to hang out with the kid the cool guys hang out with is more like it.” I sigh. “It’s not an issue, and I’ll deal with it if it becomes one. And I always have Kenz… and you.”
“Nice save there.” Mom folds the blanket and puts it on the back of the couch. “I’ve got to leave for work soon. You sure you don’t want to stay at a friend’s house?”
I bite my lip. I know the guys are hoping I’ll stay with them tonight, but honestly I could use some me time. A little time to myself to think about what I want and to process all that’s happened. “I think I’ll be fine here, but if I end up going somewhere, I’ll let you know. The guys and I are going to have dinner with Luke’s dad. I’m not sure how long that will last.”
Mom grabs the pendant around her neck and rubs it. Something she does when she’s nervous or agitated. “William Foster?”
“Yeah.” I shrug, not really looking forward to sitting at the table with Luke’s dad. If Luke is bad, he had to get that from his father. After all, that’s the only influence in his life.
“Be on your best behavior. He’s got a lot of influence around town and serves on the board of directors at the hospital.” Mom blows out a breath.
“I wasn’t planning on making a nuisance of myself.” I raise an eyebrow at her behavior. What is going on with her? “Is there something I should know?”
“No,” Mom says too quickly. “I need to get ready for work.” Momwalks toward the stairs. “Maybe you should stay with a friend tonight or have someone stay with you?”
“Maybe. I’ll let you know.”
She nods and disappears upstairs.
The more she harps on me being alone, the more nervous I am. I remember the last time she worked nights all too well. The fear and terror when someone pranked our house. But if I’m with the guys, I’ll feel safe and probably have multiple orgasms. The orgasms must be turning my brain to mush and making me crave them.
I’m beginning to really want to experience that next step. Their fingers and tongues are amazing, but there’s this fire inside they can’t seem to put out. I love the way their cocks fill my mouth. I’m definitely curious how it will feel to have them inside me.
But I can’t shake the worry.
I head to my room and change into a nice respectable dress, cream with little blue and green flowers on it. Curl my hair. A pair of strappy sandals on my feet. I even put on some light makeup. My hand shakes a little while I apply it.
I’m actually nervous about meeting Luke’s dad. My hands feel clammy.
Mom stops in my doorway. “You look pretty tonight.”
“Thanks.” I take in her scrubs. “Good luck at work.”
“I’m not looking forward to night shifts, and this week is a full moon too so all the crazies will be out.” Mom leans against the doorjamb. “Call if you need anything. Bob and Fran have your number and know you’ll be here on your own. So if you decide to have someone over, let them know so they don’t call the police.”
“Bob will bring his bat, but I still have my piñata stick.” I reach beside my bed and grab my purple and pink ribboned weapon. “I’m zombie apocalypse ready.”
“Let’s hope neither of you have to use them.” Mom holds out her arms for a hug. I step into them, taking in the smell of her coconut shampoo. “You stay safe. I love you.”
“Love you too, Mom.” I squeeze her back.
She releases me and shakes her head. “I’m going to kill whoever is in charge of scheduling.”
“If you kill them, at least I’m eighteen and won’t have to go into foster care.” I wink.
“There is that. See you later.”
I listen as Mom leaves and then grab my purse and head downstairs to wait for my ride. They insisted someone bring me tonight.
A knock at the door sets my heart to racing. I’ve basically spent all weekend with them. I shouldn’t get excited to see them after only an hour of being away from them.
When I open the door, Eli stands on my steps. He looks good in a dark blue shirt and black slacks. I search beyond him, but it’s only Eli.
“They trust you to pick me up alone.” I give him a doubtful smile.
“We’re on a tight schedule, so there’s not much I can do.” He backs me into the house. “Is your mom home?”
Not much he can do? I raise an eyebrow. “She left for work about fifteen minutes ago.”
